Hello everyone,

My boyfriend and I rescued a quail a few months ago and he is a North American bobwhite quail. We kept him on our patio which is a screened-in enclosure and the bottom half is lattice. We got home from work just a little bit ago and he is gone. We don't know if he esscaped or if someone took him. If he escaped, do quails come back? We tried to play Quail noises from the cell phone to try to get him back but to no avail. We have 1.4 acres so we are hoping he still on the property. But my question is will he come back? Or what can we do to get him back? Would it help if I put his Quail food outside? Any help is appreciated.
Thank You
Lucie

I'm not too familiar with Quails, but if there aren't any predators too near, I'm sure he'll try to make his way back to get to his safe home and food. Did it look like there was any holes in the pen?

Lattice? Something could of got him or could he have squeezed out? I hope he escaped and nothing got him! I hope he comes home too.
Also, isnt it fall quail breeding in some areas? I dont know too much about bobs though. But if it is, maybe thats why he escaped and he might be happy out with a wife at least...
