We have free range chickens and ducks. They’re locked in their coops at night and let out in the morning when the sun comes up. The last two days I’ve lost two ducklings, one each day. The first day we didn’t know what took the duckling. Raccoons usually don’t come out in the middle of the day and all that was left was intestines. No blood, no feathers, nothing. Today we literally saw a hawk swoop down and grab a duckling out of their pond and fly off with it.. we’re down to only one duckling left! We are devastated. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
So far the chickens have been fine, we’ve had the chickens a lot longer than the ducks.
