Yeah... like the title says. Our emergency backup rooster flew over the fence, out of the back pasture, to challenge Luna-tic. It lasted one second. Loonie is our recently acquired replacement dog, a Siberian Husky GSD mix who looked at the slaying as a fun diversion. Our Blue Andalusian/Jersey Black Giant main rooster heard the commotion and came over the fence spurs a-kickin' and lasted about two seconds.
This means BA/JBG's son, who hatched from our lone white leghorn, has been pardoned from attending FFC (future freezer camp) and ascended the throne.
Its not really a predator or pest problem but I wanted to share the loss of our excellent main rooster with folks who can understand.

Well, if nothing else, it serves as an example for people who desire a rooster to supposedly "protect their flock", that roosters can't actually do much against a determined dog.
