LOTS of feed being wasted

I am fairly new to the chicken business what do you mean fermented food ? Or even wet food ? Do you just wet the bagged chick feed ? Oh and what do you wet it with. My chicks are only four and five weeks old.

just water. I put mine in a big pickle jar. It makes it better for them.

I started last week. I just put whatever amount I would normally feed them and cover it with water. Let it soak. Stir. Soak. Stir. Think like sourdough starter. After a couple days, it's fermented and ready to feed. Replace what you take out and add water as needed.

We moisten ours and feed them twice daily. They eat all if it and don't toss it around and prefer it that way as well. They meet us at the door when it's time to eat.

I have been feeding pre and probiotics to my horses in the form of equipride for over 9 years the benefits are outstanding the cost is free since I don't have to shoe my horses and haven't had a health problem since starting b on this product one of other benefits are horses don't colic or founder when on this product, I mix 1 tbs in the chickens ff every morning ff is so easy and economical I cant believe everyone don't do it I also sprout grains for horses and chickens chickens prefer ff over fooder and ff is so much easier less time less space chicken raising bis so much easier than when grama did it with pvc feeders nipple waters and ff I cant believe it, chickens are healither and happier and less work than I can remember

So I just get a 5gal homedepot bucket with lid, put some chicken feed (mine is mash) in it, let's say half full, and then pour tap water onto it until it's all submerged. Cover it with lid but allow some opening and wait 3 days (stir daily).

Where do I put this bucket? out in the open or in a closed shed (with ventilation)? I can't put it inside the house or in the garage (due to smell).
