Youd think Id just figure it out just like if humans of different ethnicities have kids but Im gonna ask anyway. This is my first flock and first broody. Roo is Cochin. Eggs are: 4 EE's, 2 cuckoo Marans, 2 Jersey white giants, 1 Rhode Island white. Pretend (hope) the chicks are female. Will they lay the color of eggs they hatched from or? Will they have coloring/feathering as a mixed up variety of mom and dad? I guess its a crap shoot with a Cochin roo and all these girls. Are there any dominant genes like feathered legs or feather color? Any input?
