Lottery Fun -- Mega Millions Style........

1. I would go to Australia, Alaska, Hawaii, and maybe Europe ... flying coach because first class is too extravagant
tongue.png

2. As much land as I could find here that wasn't a total mountain. Something with a nice big pond and a stream would be nice.
3. Yes, I love my job ... though I would probably cut back from my sometimes 60++ hours a week on the busy months.
4. Yes, I would make sure my parents were taken care of. No mortgage, better vehicles, etc.
5. Horses (probably Tennessee Walkers and/or Egyptian Arabians - would LOVE to be able to compete in endurance), mini Jersey cows, Nubian goats, the best quality Minirex rabbits, and back to breeding working line German shepherds ... and of course more chickens of whatever breed struck my fancy at the moment!
6. Here, of course
smile.png
No where better!
7. Not really sure. I love to travel, already named the main places in #1. Would love to have the freedom to compete anywhere and everywhere with my horses, rabbits, and dogs. I want my parents to be able to travel and enjoy their grown-children years. I would send them on the dream honeymoon they never got. I would also spare no expense getting the piano that my late grandma (and best friend) refurbished for me completely by hand before my mother (in Minnesota) gives it away because she is bitter about me spending $600 at the vet to save my dog's life (nope, I am not bitter about this ... at all

) so is getting back at me for my "foolishness" by giving away my most prized and cherished position because I can't afford to get there and get it NOW. hmph. Now I have to go buy a lotto ticket

1) Scream, cry, pray
2) I'd pay off all my debt 100% - I'd also like to buy the acreage around me or at least to the east of me as there are some projects I'd love to do. I'd also love to move all my close family into the immediate area if they wanted to.
3) Naw, I'll explain that in #7
4) Probably. I have so many sibs and cousins that I'd probably cap it to something like a one time gift that they could get whenever they needed it or gift it to their kids.
5) Rabbits. Lots and lots of rabbits.
6) Till my kids are grown, here in Michigan.
7) Few project I'd love to do. First and foremost... I've always wanted to go into nursing, but with all the other classes you have to take at college, then the huge waiting list for nursing..........
th.gif

This is my thinking.... 100 million to set-up a new college that would just be for nursing. Everything from CNA's to RN's to nurse Anesthetist's and Nurse Practitioners. Since taxes and real estate is cheap in michigan, why not turn it into the forefront of the USA for nursing college? Handle thousands of students a year? That's part one of my investments that I think will do well (hopefully)

Next part would be the farm.. I want to do a lot of sustainable agriculture. Sort of Joel Salatin style, but different. More emphasis on organic and natural veggies and fruits. Large scale production putting to work anyone in the area who's able to pick, shovel, hoe and dig. It would be seasonal since Michigan doesn't have a huge growing season. The meat part of the farm would be two 40x120 barns filled with 3 tiered cages of meat rabbits. 6 sq foot per rabbit. Since I think Americans eat too much cheap pre-processed foods, the veggies and meat would in part be a loss leader for a couple years so folks can see the health benefits of eating sustainably. Besides, rabbit meat is heart healthy and I love it. Part of the $$ left would go into building the barns, cages, breeding stock, equipment, and 3 full time employees. A smaller 20x40 out building will be a fully inspected meat processing area via USDA and the state of Michigan. Lastly, I'd want to put a small farm store. Doesn't have to be huge, but a traditional stand wouldn't be enough. I'd probably have to pay to have our road paved if I sold on premisis. I think I could easily do all that for minimal investment. Realistically less than a Million to setup the barns and gardens. A million for the USDA facility (shooting from the hip) leaving me with 31 million.

31 million would go into the bank until the markets equalize. If I only made 1% on 31 million a year that is 310,000 a year for allowance. Honestly, with a family of 10 I get by on less than 20k. So we'd have leftover money to fix up the house. I'd knock the top off the story and a half and make it a 2 story, re side, re-roof and get high speed internet brought in. I would continue working whatever chores I want to farm or college wise. I wouldn't micromanage everything since I'm wanting to put folks to work, so I could be the rich retarded uncle who's always got a cold beer in his hand, not caring he's still in his bibs sans shirt, and when he rolls into town in his 1 ton dodge ram, straw hat and flip flops, well we all knew boyd was crazy anyways right?

Ok, so now I have to buy tickets...........

I would keep on raising chickens until the money was all gone!

I would pay off my Lil brother' s house, and build my oldest bro one! My bIL, and SIL,'s houses as well as My In laws house. Build my Mom one. Pay off my house. I would build a 10 foot high fence so my neighbor couldn't watch us through the telescope anymore! I would build a new barn for my goats and then fence the rest of the property off. Build chicken barn, and maybe something to raise a few pigs! I might even consider buying more land, and build there, but hard because my daddy gave me this plot. Help my brother fix what my stepmother did to my fathers house and then maybe he would consider sharing the property! If not oh well. (that is a long and hurtful story!)I would put money away for my kids so they will have houses where they want to live, give them money to pursue their dreams! I would send my Mom on the vacation of her life, and inlaws too! Go on a long and well needed vacation with my family. Hire some help with my land!
I would like to help some people in some way, will have to think on that one, but some money would go for that! I would help a few cousins and a few aunts and uncles too!
as for work, depends. I would do much more, but don't have time to write it all out! Sure would be nice! My husband and I do not have steady incomes right now! His carpet cleaning business is just getting off the ground, and I Sub-drive for the schools!

I would leave CT buy a farm somewhere and never look back.

help out family? absolutely

I'd start my own charity - something to do with abused children

But if your someone who hasn't bothered with me for 6+ moths - DON'T CALL ME NOW

A friend of mine actually won the lottery - lost a lot of friends
The money didn't change her at all - it did change her friends and not in a good way!!!

Oh gosh I've totally had this awesome jackpot on my mind :X I've got to buy a couple tickets tomorrow...

1. What would you do? I'd probably reread the numbers about 50 times. Then, while trying to stay calm, have my parents come over and double check for me. Then... SCREAM UNTIL I FAINT. literally. Probably burst into tears and pee my pants and dance around the house and go outside and scream to my neighbors that I won the lotto (probably wake them all up) and then call a couple of my friends and tell them to pass the word. Then FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET ME MY MONEYYYY
2. Realistically, what would you buy first? The first thing I'd look into would be a new house. But probably the first big thing I'd end up buying would be a new car, because my junk-o Saturn is constantly crapping out on me.
3. Would you continue working? I'd probably take a year off xD Travel the world and then go back to work part-time only. More to keep myself from being bored than anything else.
4. Would you share the $$ with family? Heck yeah! I'd buy my brother a nonsense car and give him a couple grand to get him on his feet. My parents get a new house.
5. New livestock? What's your dream animal now that you can afford anything? I'd definitely get some really really nice chickens. And more SNAKES.
6. Where would you live? Probably stay in the San Francisco bay area. Anywhere else I go, I'd just stay in a really nice hotel.

I would first find a nice tax lawyer before I claimed anything. Then I'd commence to play....

Pay off the house, and look for the ideal place to live. Buy a summer home in Haines, Alaska; my home town and look for acreage where I can build my crunchy granola green dream home.

Buy a 1954, fully restored Chevy stepside pickup.

I'm a stay at home mom, so my job wouldn't really change, but I'd pay someone else to do my cleaning. I hate housework, it is massively non-rewarding, boring and never finished. Dh might keep working as a consultant, he likes what he does, and I think he would be bored.

I'd share my money with my family, but on a limited basis. Mom and MIL wouldn't have to worry about money, homes, repairs, medicine etc would all be taken care of. I would set up trust funds for the nieces and nephews for college, and down home payments. Money that would give them options for their lives. I would do trust funds because I don't trust some family members to keep their mitts off the money.

While I'm not religious, this would be an unearned windfall. Is would be total luck for me to win, so I would probably tithe to charity, as I'm not any more deserving than anyone else. It would probably be through an anonymous trust fund (see tax lawyer, above) since I wouldn't want the moochers to come to me.

I would bank the remainder and live off the interest. I think I could have a pretty nice lifestyle on the interest of what's left after spending, donating, and gifting. I would not immediately buy livestock because I want to travel, and money makes that so much easier and more comfortable. But when I settled, I think I would get some horses, donkeys or mules, a couple of goats and cats. I have a hankering for pure bred maine coon cats and scottish fold kitties, but can't rationalize spending hundreds of dollars for cats when everyone I've had (except one) just sort of appeared.

The places I'd like to travel include many places in the US, Egypt (a Nile cruise), Greece, Morocco, Spain and Portugal, India, Nepal, Tibet, Thailand, Fiji, New Zealand, Russian (Minsk, Ekatarinburg, Moscow), Norway, Peru, Belize, Costa Rica, .....I guess there aren't many places I don't want to see.
