Loud Peacock

I have a male india blue peacock I obtained from Craigslist. He is a loud one, starts calling at five a.m. I dont mind as his pen is towarsd the back of my property. However my neighbors house is closer. If I get him a peahen will he not call as much?

I have a pair and they still call to each other each morning. Mating season will be full of conversations.

I hope it quiets him down some at least. Seems mornings are his time starting at 5 a.m.

He will not call near as much soon, breeding season is about over.

The guineas to him same as a peahen, yes he will mate with them. Rare cases some eggs will even hatch.

The ones we had never stopped. I think there were 2 males and 3 females, but it was 12 years ago. I get annoyed just remembering them (still not sure which i was happier to get rid of the birds or the mother in law).

he is now seperate from the guineas. That would be one weird cross!!!

Am I the only one that LOVES their call? I think its beautiful and quite mysterious. Our male and sometimes our female call during the night, it never wakes me up but when I'm awake I can hear it inside the house. Music to my ears. I cannot wait until I get 10+ and they all go at it.

No, I love their call, also. I feel like I'm in the jungle when they let loose.
