I just received a Production Red yesterday for free and the owner said she's about 8-10 months old. She's laying eggs already but since she have been at my house, no eggs. But she's loud anyway. Anybody know why? Unhappy at new home? Missing her old friends? Hopefully she's not louder when she does lay an egg. If she's a loud pullet in general, I may have to give her up again. The previous owner gave her up because she was pecking the younger chicks that were black. I have 3 RIRs who have not layed eggs yet but this new one is making me scared to hear my 3 when they do lay. They're quiet now so hopefully it stays that way.
