Hi'

Well thinking about starting up some quail, but not from hatching. I figured I would just buy young and go from there. Any advice would be helpfull, from pens to best laying. I hope I don't strike a nerve, but would like to have the meat as well.

Hi and
welcome-byc.gif
- glad to have you join us.

The Learning Centre is a great resource - loads of info on anything quail. https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center

There is a quail forum also, that i would strongly advise you join.

Joining your state thread will put you in touch with other BYC members in your area, which can be helpful (just type the name of your state in the search box).

And no, don't worry about "striking a nerve" when it comes to eating what you raise. Two of my flock got the chop yesterday evening for the very same reason!
