As far as the fainting goat... maybe. I will talk to my husband. I have been considering parting with one of them. But she does have problems with her hoofs. Do you have experience with hoofs? I am just learning how to trim them properly and have not been able to fix the problem. I would really like her to go to somebody that has experience and time to get them fixed! By the way... her feet were messed up when I got her. It was not my doing.

I even took the poor thing to the vet over it ($150 right there). If not, then we will hopefully be having BABIES after awhile! Our males were born in Jan. so as soon as they are ready we should have some preggo girls. I am hoping to get the one girl's feet fixed before then if I end up keeping her.

Joz, I'll be glad to let you have one of my little EE's or anything else you want.
I have adult Black Australorpes (1 roo and 4 hens), Golden Laced wyandottes, Golden Campines, Welsummers, White Leghorns, Dominiques, Barred rocks, EE's, Black Sex links, Red sex Links, Guinea, and many cross breeds......Most of my adults aren't for sale, but we can discuss if you really like something.

joz, you can carry your birds in the carrier up against the cab of the truck, that works. From personal experience, carrying them in the car when they are older can be a smelly experience.
As far as isolation...they recommend 4 weeks. If you got any birds form me, It would be ok to keep them together, if you buy from someone else, you might have issues. Honestly, I haven't always been the strictest on biosecurity, but you run the risk of mixing sick birds with healthy birds. The good news is that you will be having babies that aren't laying, so it'll be a little easier to start over.

Rachel,my guys were classified as EE, I'm not sure what the difference is to have them considered Americauna. I have several that I guess would be called wheaton, a couple that are gray/blue colored. They should lay pale green to olive green eggs. And in there with them are my Black Copper Marans, and I think of the 4 I hatched, I have 3 boys.
I have no experience with hooves, I have worked with horses, but they weren't mine, so I never did extensive care. Maybe when you get babies, I'll see about getting one from you.

I don't know the difference between the two either! lol. If it is a blue gray color that is what I am looking for. How many of them are that color? Are they male or female? I will for sure take some. I was thinking about possibly parting with 1 of my speckled sussex but have not decided for sure. Let me know if you are interested. I also have a couple of hens that I think are just mixed breed that I will be parting with I just haven't decided when. I only have 3 hens that are laying as of right now and they are 2 of them. I have a some mixed breed babies that I NEED to get rid of. 3 pullets and 1 rooster, they are about 3 months old. Very pretty though, I just don't have room in my big coop with all these other birds I am planning on putting in there.

Hi everyone! I will be there for sure!

I have bantam chickens, and will also be taking a trip to Jerry's Seramas in Vacherie before then if anyone wants me to pick up a red pet quality silkie or Serama for them.

If anyone is interested in Bantams let me know.

I'm bantam crazy...

Next week, I will have some mixed breed chicks hatch, so I can bring those if anyone is interested. I also have a few mixed breed cockerels that I need to re-home. I won't ask anything for the babies I bring, I just want them to find a good home.

I've been wanting some more geese and turkeys, so if anyone has any or knows of any, I'm interested

Yay!!! I have wanted one for so long, and they are so expensive around here! My friend in Wisconsin bought 2 for $40, I decided I hated her right away, but They're much cheaper up there.

I think I have 2 that are gray, and as of right now, I can't really tell what they are, EE mixes usually have (what the heck are they called-rose combs?) smaller combs anyway, so it's harder to tell. I'll need to look at them super close and let you know.
I might be interested in a Speckled Sussex...I'll let you know.

So they are mixed? Where did you get them from? I have a few Ameraucanas that are 9 weeks that came from McMurray. I love the puffy cheeks. They are very wild though, not sure why but they freak out every time I mess with them. I do want both the grays unless they both are roosters. What other colors do you have?

Well, they should all be pure EE, I only had 1 mature male at the time, and he's EE, and I hatched them the last week of May.My original EE's came from My Pet Chicken.
I can't tell what sex they are yet, I'll try to look at the saddle feathers closely, it's so hard to tell with their little combs!
But I have 1 Black/gray, 2 rusty/gray, 1 or 2 light gray with orange barring, and 3 or so white with orange barring which I think is called wheaton (not really sure!!) I'll see if hubby can help me get good pictures of them today, and we'll try to post them. But again, I have no idea which are male or female at this point!! It's a surprise!
Oh, and my EE's have never been really friendly either. They scream their heads off when I pick them up. These guys are a little less fearful, because they learned that the hand brings the food, so they tend to jump on you and try to get to the goodies.
