Good morning everyone. Almost the weekend. I can't wait. I haven't killed, oops I mean used the high powered pellet gun on anything yet Mike but I'm waiting. :D

I'm dealing with a rabbit that is not himself these days. I"m not sure what's going on with him. He is not eating and drinking too much. Could be wool block, so I treated him for that. He is not grooming as before and his coat doesn't look good. I've been searching for a rabbit groomer in my area but I can't find one. I had to bathe him and will probably shave some of his matted fur. He's kinda old, so I don't know if it's old age or not. I will have to bring him to the vet if he doesn't perk up. I hope my boy makes it. :(

I had a turkey hen that had been setting on eggs and it looks like she decided to get up to stretch her legs and some of the males were overly aggressive with her when they spotted her and damaged her leg because she can't get up. I have her in a chain link dog kennel with her food and water right by her. It looks like it will be a long recovery. So that is another patient that I am trying to nurse. I put her egg (she has already hatched 4 turkey poults and had 1 left) under another broody turkey hen and that egg is scheduled to hatch this weekend. I scrambled some eggs for her and she gobbled that up, so she is eating. I hope she will be ok.

The turkey eggs in the incubator should be hatching in the next couple days. I followed the instructions as far as what to do 2 days before the hatch. Hopefully, they will hatch. If not, then oh well. I'll stick to the old fashioned way of hatching.

The geese are laying all over and a couple have gone broody. I will probably steal a few newly laid goose eggs and practice in the incubator when the turkey eggs hatch.

I have 4 ducks that are broody but they don't know that they are setting on turkey and goose eggs. I"m noticing that the ducks are laying all over the place. All I have to do is walk around and pick up duck eggs. It's like an Easter Egg Hunt. :/

:barnie

Have a good day ya'll!

Good mornin' Julie and the rest of ya'll La-yers too. I wished more of my hens would go off and just lay all over the place like your ducks kuntrygirl I'm tired of bringing in multiple dozens of eggs daily as I'm 'bout outta room for them in the fridge. I guess I will start boiling them and then freeze them for bitty feed later on when ever I get some hatched out I don't know what I'll do when they all start laying daily. I got rid of 32 pullets I guess I better get on the stick and get rid of 32 or more. Until then I'm not overly ready to do much hatching of new chicks that's for sure.

See ya'll later on, have a good day LOL

Those look great Chris!!
Thanks!

Don't worry about the puppy thing....I had him flown in yesterday! Picked him up at the airport last night at 7. I'll need to post some pic.

Yea the foal is really nice. This one goes to the owners of the mare but we get to keep next years baby from this same pairing. We also have our mare bread to the same stallion that this mare was bread to and she is due in about three weeks. We are really hoping for some color....and a little stud would be great!!!

When my new RIRs start laying, I think I will be overloaded. At first I thought that I would need more layers for eggs but the older girls fooled me and started laying more than I needed. But I guess the good thing is that I have a lot of customers who do clean me out, so I don't have to worry about egg overload.

Way to go on getting rid of the 32 pullets. :thumbsup
