"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

I was able to sell my last ram this weekend. He was going to be butchered but someone stopped by and made me a good deal. I also sold 4 adult turkeys, 6 poults ,2 guineas and an offer of $60.00 for the pea that hatched on Saturday ( of course, I didn't sell it) and of course a ton of eggs. A lot of people were baking for Father's Day. It was a good weekend.
Now on to setting more pea eggs, turkey eggs and guinea eggs today.
Way to go! I am happy you didn't sell your pea. It is beautiful! More pictures please!

Thanks. I think I may end up with a zoo of peas. I want to keep them all but I can't.

I will take more pics of both of them today. Play time is usually after the chicken yard chores are all done. The older pea is soaring through the house like a jet. Almost time to go outside. :gig

We wheathered the ram lamb born this year so he will be going to the freezer. We only have the one registered ram lamb, but he keeps his distance which has been GREAT! I will not keep another ram with an attitude! My girls should be bred by the end of August. If you haven't found a replacement by then Julie, then I could always pimp my ram out to you for a month or two

If your girls are bred in September, then you will have February lambs. He looks like a brown and white paint horse. Lots of color!

Oh, and I just love Louisiana. We have been here since mid April and I am in love.

Every local we meet has been so kind and generously hospitable. Wonderful people here in Deridder. I am practically a single parent with my honey gone for work so much. Our neighbors treat us like family! They drive my trash cans down the gravel road to the main street! Others bring me tomatoes, cucumbers and onions from their gorgeous garden. Today a couple brought by duck eggs.

Honey is going to be bringing lots of cherries when he comes home from helping his daddy in the orchard. Then we will be able to "repay" the kindness shown to us since we have moved here.
