"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Magnolia Classic Poultry Show - March 23rd at the Rapides Parish Coliseum. APA Judge Pat Malone from Tx. I have never shown...and most of my birds are "rare" and aren't recognized by the apa. I do have a giant of a gold laced wyandotte...wonder if I should try. I don't take rejection well. Ha! Perhaps I should just go watch and get a fell of it this time around. Here's a pic of this cockerel... he is only currently 24 weeks and the pullet behind him is from the same hatch. Look at the size difference! I think he has emu genes...

I also lost my lav orp roo. I have one coming from kraftyladies soon. She is in Florida. She is also NPIP certified and I just hatched some eggs from her. She would be a good start in getting new lav orps.
Sheesh & here I LIVE here & didn't know about this show! I will most definitely be there-even though I don't have anything to show! thanks for posting the info about it.

That is one HUGE roo! I think you may be right about the emu genes!

Hi all else hope everyones enjoying the weather not being so cold for a change.
The Central La Poultry Club is having their show in April in Jennings and is not an APA sanctioned show. The one in Alexandria is APA a month before. Two different shows coming up everyone!

Good morning La-yers. WOW, you all have been busy busy busy chatting. I have missed A LOT. I"m trying to catch up on the posts. WHEW.

Welcome to all new La-yer's.

Congrats to all who have new hatches.

Sorry for any losses (Twiley). :hugs

Good luck to anyone putting eggs in to hatch.

I had my NPIP re-certification this morning and I passed. It gets easier as the years go by. The vet said that I have some of the healthiest birds that he has ever seen. :) I'm good for another year. :D

If anyone is missing a white rabbit, he found his way to my house. This little fella has been roaming around the neighborhood for about 3 months now and he is still alive. I found out why he is still alive. He is coming over to my yard during the day and eating the chicken feed. After the vet was done testing, I looked over and saw something that didn't belong in my chicken yard. He was sitting along side the chickens eating from the feeder. :/ I was like, "HUH". The things that happen at my place. :/

Have a good day everyone.

Nice looking rabbit! Now you need another rabbit cage for your new adopted furry friend. Is it a doe or a buck? The word must be out in the animal world as to where the best vittles are! HeHeHe

:yuckyuck

I have no idea. I couldn't catch him. When I saw him he was on his back paws eating in the chicken feeder right there with the chickens and turkeys. I ran inside to get my phone to take a pic and he was gone after that. I looked for him and found him near the rabbit shed. I don't know what's going on at my place. :barnie

The last guest that showed up at my house was this fella. This was a couple years ago and he refuses to leave. :/ I posted ads on craigslist and asked around the neighborhood. No one seems to know who he belongs to. Someone just dumped him at my house. :idunno
