"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

We just had a "Welcome Back Sun" party. I sang Here Comes the Sun by the Beetles and the girls ate their fill of yogart. Yea!!!! Sun's back! :weee
My 4 new fuzzy butts
Amen on the sunshine! planning to get outside & trim hedges today! And congrats on the new fuzzy butts -- what breeds? Now I'm wanting to break out my incubator again!
1 white rock 1 black giant 1 black sexlink. Sorry for the spelling RIR. I cheated and bought them at the feed store. I have 4 that are due to hatch in 7 days.

Speaking of chicks at the feed store, I saw some NICE sex linked chicks at Tractor Supply.I heard that Chick Days would start soon, so I creeped in there to see. They are sooo cute. And they are $2.99 a chick. YIKES! I sure need at least 25 but would love 50. Another YIKES! I may have to creep back over there and settle for 20. It's a hefty price but I know it will be worth it. With more poults hatching this weekend, I could put them all together.

It's almost time to move the older poults somewhere but I have to get their stall ready. I have to get DE to make sure the dirt is ok before I put some sand on top of the dirt. I also have to clean out a stall for them. The chickens have been hi-jacking the stall that I am planning to use, so I will have to kick them out of there and run my cord for the heat lamp out there. Still a little chilly for them to be out without a hat, jacket, scarf, boots and gloves.

I know. I have mine in the house. In the bedroom with me and the hubby. It was a little difficult sleeping last night. I moved them to the living room. I was thinking that when the others hatch I might try putting them under the broody. What you think???

Same situation here. The Wellies need to be moved so that I can move the Marans, but the Wellies are only 2 months old & the Marans 1 month old so neither can go in w/the main flock yet. I can't move them into the "grow-out" pen because it is full of the peas from last years' hatch. I need more room -- more coops, more fences, more everything!!!

I cheated & looked at chicks at the feed store last week -- thank goodness they didn't have any Blue Andalusians or EE's or I would've caved in & brought a few home. I need to stay away from that part of the feedstore!!!
Those are some nice looking chicks! Good luck w/your hatch!

That's what I have been looking for too but they were all sold out. These that I got were from my hubby as a valentine present. I called all the feed stores around. Not sure bout getting them from an individual.

So do I Terri. I didn't realize how much dust there is when they are inside. Now I need to hire a cleaning lady to get me dust free. :barnie

that's the ONLY thing keeping me from firing up my bator again right now -- it is SO NICE to have my utility room back clean and dust-free again!!! I just look around and smile at everything so neat & clean & in order.
Meanwhile, outside the chaos continues!

Tell me about it! I kept mine in "Harry Potters room" what my kids call the room under the stairs :) everything is covered in white dust and I already used my last swifter duster in there. Couldn't believe the mess it picked up!
