"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Okay. My Ameracauna babies are 4 weeks old, close to 5 weeks. The gray one is clearly a girl. Is the dark on a roo? I hope hope hope not, but the comb does seem to be changing darker and a little rougher. Or maybe it got pecked or dirty? (grasping at straws LOL). I tried wiping it off with spit LOL and maybe my imagination thought some of the dark came off.

Crud and back at work?

Hope you get to feeling better.

Well, it didn't work out so well!  I went back to the urgent care on my lunch break Thursday where they ordered me not to go back to work until Monday.  Good news is I'm feeling like a champ today, so all is better!

Great news!! Glad that you are feeling better. :)

Good morning La-yers! nice looking birds Cadjien! I spent the weekend putting two coats of primer on my bathroom walls. It's amazing how one little room can get bigger -and bigger-aannnddd bigger! :gig the longer I painted, the more it grew! I had NO idea there were so many nooks and crannies and corners there! Now I have to go buy the actual paint for completing the project tomorrow, along w/new knobs and pulls. Up to THREE pea eggs now! Here's a pic of my Cinco de Mayo rosebush; just love it -- the blooms change color as they develop. Have a good Monday everybody!
Congrats on the pea eggs Terri. My girls have slacked off. Out of the 6 eggs that they layed, I have 4 in the incubator. "Something" ate or cracked 2 o the eggs open. I think that Saturday is lock down and so is my strawberry wine. Beautiful rosebush.

Hi, a friend just asked me where she can buy processed, free range chicken. Right now she lives in Baton Rouge, but is moving to Pineville (Alexandria area) in June. I told her I would ask you guys. THANKS!

Good morning everyone!!

I hope that everyone had a great weekend. You all have been busy on the thread.

I had a LONG weekend. I am so exhausted. I am running on fumes today. I had my weekend class in Baton Rouge ALL DAY. Then had to rush home to cut the grass when I got back and had ALL of the chores to do in the yard to include changing out the 7 kiddie pools for the geese and ducks. Had to clean out ALL of the baby brooders. In addition, I had babies hatching ALL OVER THE PLACE!! :hit So, I had to get new brooders organized and put them all over. I am so tired. If someone would have walked up to me and offered me $0.63 for my little farm, I would have accepted it and had been happy. I'm tired. :/

I had to fight with Satan's Army (the geese) when I put the 7 older baby gosling out in the yard. Satan's army heard the babies making noises and they came racing around the house. They charged at the babies and tried to steal the babies. I had to go and get a stick, a branch and a net to fight them off. I was trying to separate the gosling away from them but the geese divided up into groups and came at me in different directions. One group tried to attack me while the other group formed a covert operation and stole the babies and ran around the house. So, while I"m fighting for my life, they herded the babies farther away from me. So, when I broke lose of Satan's army, I ran to get the gosling. By that time, the other group came from around the house and started flying towards me. So, while I'm ducking down with sticks, branches and a net in my hand, I'm looking like a crazy lady because I know they are about to do an air attack on my head and face. So, I'm ducking and running at the same time trying to get away from Satan's Army. So, as I"m running, I'm looking back to see where the babies are. So, the other group runs the babies back into the front yard while this group runs me the other way. When I tell ya'll, it was NOT a pretty sight out there, please believe me. I know that my neighbors were inside of their house laughing at me because I would have done the same thing. I hope that no one taped that and put it on You Tube. I had nightmares last night about that. I'm just glad that I lived to tell about it. :/

Here are a couple of pics of some of what hatched over this weekend. I think the total as of this morning was 2 gosling, 5 poults and 15 guineas.

I was so tired that on yesterday when I went outside to snatch a gosling from under a chicken that had just hatched, I saw that I had a poult that had hatched, so I scooped it up and placed it the pocket of my robe. (yes, I was out in the chicken yard with my robe on. :gig) So, as I got the gosling organized, I kept hearing chirping noises and I could not figure out where the chirping was coming from . The chirping noised seemed to be everywhere I went, and it seemed to be following me. I walked ALL over the house AND the garage looking to see where the noise was coming from. Then it hit me and I said to myself, "DUMMY, you have a poult in your pocket." :smack That's how tired I was. I forgot the baby in the pocket of my robe. When that happens, it's time to shut everything down and take a nap. Nonetheless, everyone survived my sleepy state of mind this weekend. Still have babies hatching this week.

Oh my goodness! Bless your heart. Sounds like you need a break. The "satans army" story had me laughing though.
