"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Sorry to hear about the lice. As for the dog no gsd rescue in your area. One did tell me the rescue in Alexandria or there animal assistance league would help rescue the dog. The number for the rescue is 3184731229 I hope they help. Pam

Thanks Pam, I will give them a call.

Actually that's the animal control in Alexandria. They don't pick up animals in Pineville. I will have to try to get the help of a private rescue group.

There used to be a receptionist at Kees Park Animal Clinic who was active w/some rescue. I don't know her name but she had a British accent. You might call them & ask.

Now, when we’ve had strays dumped on our property, I always called the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s dept & they would send the livestock patrol officer out to get them. He had to shoot one big dog w/a tranquilizer dart one time – the dog was very aggressive, barking & snarling but would not leave the yard. I hated to see that done, but I have my own animals to protect. I know that one ended up euthanized at the pound. They do try & rehome some of them though.

That's where I take my dogs! I will talk to her. She is really sweet!

If we win you can have our 5 acres in the country! BTW, did you notice the for sale sign right after the S turn last time you were here? It is on the right, a block before our house. 10 acres, I think, and just land. It was a crawfish farm, but they did not dig it deep enough and the birds, like egrets ate the crawfish, then the old man died and his kids didn't want to farm. The property needs a lot of fill, but is someone wanted to do some crawfish or fish farming, they could use what is dug for fill. Just a thought and I would be glad to have you for a neighbor, Linda. Just think, since it is zoned as AG, you could have all the chickens you wanted!!!! hehehe, yes, I am an enabler! You could even get that little lamb from Julie !

Thanks, Celie. I love the land where you are, it's just right. Lots of pretty land but not too far from people. I just could never move too far from my daughter and grandchildren. I do think I will have to sell my house one day to have land for animals. I would look for nice land like you have.

I saw the ad for that one. Not too bad on price, I'll have to look it up again to give the link. They said the drainage was still in.

I had to drive to Baton Rouge to find a german shepherd rescue last. There aren't many unfortunately.

It's sad when I hear about these dogs being abandoned . This is a great breed I never had one that wouldn't put there life in danger to save mine or anyone in our family. My son has learning disabilities when he was young he would disappear if you turned you head for 2sec. My gsd at that time would go with him not leave his side until we came to get them. At the time my house was surrounded by forest with a bayou. Their great about watching over your children. I could go on and on. I just don't understand someone buying a dog not giving it the training it needs. At least be responsible and rehome the dog to a good home. Sorry for the rant. I'm passionate about animals. This breed especially , I've lived with one or more since I was born.

She will be at the office tomorrow, so I will stop and talk with her. Maybe she will be some help.
