I've never managed to catch one red handed..... or uhm blue egged? before!
Awesome!

I have a pullet that is trying to decide if she wants to be broody or not. They all want the one nest box and will wait turns rather then using both at the same time. Usually, you have one in the box and the one waiting on the ground bickering at each other until the first one is done. Well, for the last 3 days the one in my picture has been trying to lay on eggs. Only one egg in 3 days from her and she will not budge, the others lay on top of her and move on. She stays in there all day and when I remove the eggs at night and only leave her with the fake ones she growls at me for a while and tries to sit a little more. About half an hour after I remove them she goes to the roost sulking. She does a great job of rotating and stacking them. Every egg that the other girls laid were nicely corraled under her. Is it to late in the season for them to be brooding? Does a pullet for the first time really sit it out if left with the eggs? BTW she is not egg bound, def trying to be broody.

My first time broody pullet Lucy was/is OUTSTANDING!!! She was a determined sitter and excellent mom, the poor gal. She is a bantam and the eggs I gave her were large EE's. Those babies are 6 weeks old and getting so big. She gets so frustrated when they don't want to mind and still tries to stretch herself over them on the perch at night.

OK thanks, I think I'll give her the eggs back. I have heard around here that her breed will brood in the middle of a bad storm in the open, I just thought she was a little young. She did try to spend some time with the meat bird chicks just before acting like this, maybe it started her mood? I would love to see what chicks come from her.

Back in the 80's I was trying to switch to drinking water instead of sodas etc. Someone said to start out with Crystal Light and slowly mix with more water and less Crystal Light. Well, it wasn't too long before I was confused and had difficulty thinking. I was told it was from the artificial sweetener. I was very impressed at the neurological effect of artificial sweetners. Right there in 1984 I vowed to never put another artificial sweetners in my body and I haven't. My grand kids do them all the time, but never on my watch. They know what I think of it and that I won't give them anything with it. I crave water and carry it with me all the time everywhere I go. I've been drinking water all day and not sodas since then.

Clean food and drinks! I have some friends that just think I'm nutty for saying such a thing. I refuse to use them! Besides it makes food taste nasty to me.

The whole car thing sucks. Some years ago(while working for the zone) saw the same thing happen prooblem is that 1. Unfortunately they hire people without any auto experience. That person needs a job. And the training they give them is minimal. 2. On some vehicles the manufacturer will list two different types of batteries they should have looked to see which series was in the car. Some batteries have reversed post. Which means the battery works differently.

That person will most likely be termed. Some of these companies stinck at proper training. Oh and the windshield thing. Had a store manager break a windshield while replacing the blades. Needless to Say the store paid for that too.
See... It can happen... Never underestimate the stupidity of others. It's like oil changes at walmart. Time after time while walking threw the auto section I hear people complaining because they always get oil changes there and they found out walmart didn't tighten the oil filter or put the pan/plug back on right so all the oil comes out. You want to know what walmart says about it??? They say they are not responsible for the damage because they have no way to tell if you went somewhere else in the week since the oil change. Who changes their oil 2x a week??? Heck, mine hasn't been changed in a year and I have over 100 thousand miles on that batch of oil. I just check to make sure the thickness, color, and level are correct.

We have an extremely wild feral calico cat we've been trying to tame all summer so we can trap her & get her spayed. Of course she had kittens & we've been searching for them for several weeks. She shows up to eat 3 times a day & we could tell she'd had them.

I was dressing this morning for work & I heard a kitten meow & the lightbulb went off. I walked over to the window next to Jim's side of the bed & peeked through the blinds at our front porch. Momcat was RIGHT THERE STARING BACK AT ME - she hissed & bared her teeth. I saw movement - kittens running after her -- they are at least a month old! their eyes are open & they are moving quite well! Didn't get a good look at them except to see one orange one & one calico like her (like the world needs another hellion like her)!

When I left for work I spotted them playing on the front porch - there is the orange, the calico, and a Siamese one - three is what I glimpsed before they took off running -- straight down an old armadillo hole which is in my front flowerbed.

We haven't had rain in weeks. She had them there & that's where they've been hiding.
And of course, now we have at least three kittens who are at least a month old & wild as March hares so we're back to that problem of how to tame them -- plus, she saw me & she knows I saw the kittens so chances are she will probably move them today - bet she has already -- plus we have heavy rains on the way & that would flood the armadillo tunnel, so again, she will move them.

I can't even begin to think about catching them until tomorrow afternoon since I have a work training until noon.

I think I'll leave food out when I go home for lunch & then -- then what? I can't set my trap because they are too lightweight to trip it! I might try that anyway, just to see.....

If I can just catch them I can crate them & tame them down. Maybe.
Any suggestions anybody?

You two are making me hurt. Have either of you looked into some natural remedies? Some old time ones really work. Last time my mom had cancer I got her from over 20 meds down to 4 with ones I had found. Her doctor hates it because for years he told her she could never get off the meds and all her labs are great now whereas before they were all over the place. (No, I did not use any for the cancer itself, just her health problems before it.)

I saw a naturopath He sent me a.m. and P.m. herbs he extracted and custom mixed. The most horrible thing I ever Tasted. liquid pepper ,Australian sage, cats claw, celery eight other things I can't remember. It was disgusting. I made my self down it like drinking a shot of alcohol. It helped a lot wish I was still on it .It's not Covered By insurance his herb mixture was 80.00 dollars. He also but me on shark cartilage works great a special brand from Canada I still use that and .Qurection comes from apples its good for inflammation. I was on Lidoderm patches they cost a fortune so I found tiger balm patches. I think they work better. I sometimes do a treatment from edger Casey.
