"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

I think I just figured out what stalled egg production here.  I noticed a few extra feathers in the yard yesterday and today one of my girls has not more long tail feathers.  Some of them must be starting to molt.  The only thing that has me puzzled is that they won't be a year old til Dec 5th.  Is this normal or possible?

Yes, some of mine are molting as well. Slow egg prodcution which is fine with me.

I miss my blue eggs stupid fox got both my Americana hens. waiting on these 2 to get a little older to see what color their eggs will be. This is the 2 chicks that my white leg horn hatched back in June, their daddy is an Americana roo & I'm guessing their hens were black sex links. I have 4 other EE's that I purchased should start laying any day now. Please don't get me wrong I love my brown eggs of so many shade (lol sounds like a book title) "Many Shades of Brown" Think I'm just excited about having 2 home grown chickens. My next purchase on my wish list is an incubator.

So sorry for your loss. I have a 1/2 Ameracauna 1/2 Blue Andalusian cross & she lays a pale blue egg, very pretty. My 2 "true" Ameracaunas are both jet black just like your hen on the left. Both lay robins' egg blue eggs.

How old is Lou? Snow White is curious and comes around me a lot, but Lizzie is still very shy.

She was hatched first week of April. She is a hoot! Loves to be pet and my son holds her like a baby. Very vocal. I have another one that we renamed Lucy Goosey because she honks like a goose all the time (she is a black blue Orpington)

Hubby got good news. He is back to work, for 90 days or until they can get the budget balanced in Washington. And his work buddy is bring me hops&grain(used in making his beer. I'm putting some ground up in a beer soap) and he IS bringing us that load of watermelons he talked about possibly bringing. I better take a nap to get ready, lol.

I would not be grossed out by a chewed up possum. The only good possum is a dead one in my book. So, yes, pics.

No pic's this time it was 1:00 am. Next time I'll be prepared . I'm sure their will be a next time I have 5 uncleared acres. My last two got a hold of a raccoon not a pretty sight they played tug of war almost couldn't tell what it was.
