Update: There were funeral services yesterday for baby Christopher. He had been cremated. His parent's had brought his memorial box to a special Spanish mass. His box was placed on the alter. The entire mass was in Spanish. I was able to "follow along" with much of it, and pick up words here and there. The priest spoke to his parents, and I heard baby Christopher's name said often. It's very strange when you don't understand what's being said. After mass, the priest brought the memorial box back to his parents. Everyone in the congregation then went and hugged his parents.
It was very emotional. I hope that with this closure, that they are able to begin to find peace. It felt like things were in "limbo" until they had a memorial service.

I hope they find peace too, sounds like it was a very special ceremony.

Morning La-yers this weekend went by WAY too fast!

Good morning everyone. I hoipe that everone had a great weekend. I went to Lowe's to lok for canning jars but forgot about them because I needed to buy some mini blinds and have them cut for a window. I"ll try back during the week. I did stumble across a few deals this weekend at the Dollar General Store. I had been looking for throw pillos for my couch for about a year. I needed the perfect color because of the color of my couch and I found exactly what I had been looking for. When you walk in the store, they have their clearance rack right there, so you can't miss anything. When I saw the colored throw pillows, the heavens opened up and the Chariots of Fire song began playing in surround sound throughout the store. I quickly walked over to the clearance rack and looked for the clearance tag but I didn't see one but did see the sign that indicates if the original price is XXXX amount, then the sale price would be XXX amount sign. However, the $8.00 price was not listed on the sign . So, I took the pillow and brought it to the cash register and had the cashier scan it. The original price was $8.00 but I knew it wasn't $8.00 but thought it would be at least half off which would have made it $4.00 but was hoping for a lower pice. So as the cashier scanned the throw pillow, my heart was racing and pumping full speed and I held my breath in hopes that I could afford to buy all 13 pillows. Well to my surprise, it was my lucky day. After 1 year of looking and waiting and waiting and waiting some more, to find the perfect colored throw pillows for my couch, my wait was over. The pillow scanned at $1.10. e I was speechless. I could not believe it. The cashier asked me did I want the pillow. I told him, NO, I wanted ALL OF THE PILLOWS ! I filled 2 baskets up with all 13 pillows. I also found these 8 wine glasses for $0.10 each. I bought everything on the shelf One can never have too many wine glasses. For some reason or another, Dollar General had all kinda stuff on sale. I use the ALL liquid detergent with no perfums or dyes. They had it on sale for $3.50. Regular price is $5.00. I had 3 coupons for $1.00 off, so I bought some for $2.50 each. So, I was able to find a few things this weekend. I hope to find more stuff next weekend.

Thanks. I have them on the couch in the pic, so you can see how well the colors blend it. I couldn't believe how well the colors matched. I just bought the flower pillow because he said that he would only charge me $1.10 for that one as well. I'll probably put that one on my bed. I have a white down comforter and it will brighten up the room.

I'm not familair with the story of baby Christopher but that sounds so sad.

I hope everyone has been having a great weekend! I managed to survive the homecoming events The kids sure had fun! Today has been non stop. A great church sermon this morning. And my 3 helpers here helped me peel and cut up the 25lb box of sweet potatoes we got awhile back. I have a load of them in the pressure canner right not. Just plain water. I think I will do the next batch with a light syrup made with brown sugar and water. I got a big batch of tuna casserole made today. 4 containers of that popped into the freezer for easy weeknight meals. I still have watermelons butternut squash and a bunch more organizing in the kitchen. I have to put all these jars of canned food somewhere! Lol! Our lawn needs mowed and poor hubby has been tap, tap, tapping away at the computer all day doing school work. Oh well, the cooler weather will slow that grass down eventually! Well, it seems that we may have broody lift off! I am excited but pretty much indecisive on what to do. We have fertile eggs from the bantam coop. And I have fertile eggs from the big hen coop. But the big hens eggs are in with the Cochin......who is a Bantam. Hmmm.......I wonder what some mutts from him and some of these big ladies would look like????? I also think I should remove the little Silkie roo from the bantam coop.....right? Also wondering if I should take a few eggs out of the nest. She has a LOT in there! 3 or 4 eggs would have been added after this pic was taken. I am going to make sure all the eggs are marked in the morning and take out any I think are too old. But that won't be but maybe 1 or 2 because I have already been tending to that. If I take out a few maybe I could add in a few from the larger hens if I go ahead and do it tomorrow morning. If I need correcting in any of this please feel free!!!

Sounds like you all had a busy weekend but sounds like you all had fun. You have a lot of stuff going on out in the chicken yard.

I almost forgot to tell you all about more babies hatching but that's really nothing new. Just as fast as I can sell them, they are hatching even faster. :/ Now I am finding babies just roaming around the yard with no mama. I'm at a point now where I just walk in the yard and listen for new babies. They will let me know where they are.

This pic was the first babies this weekend. After this pic was taken, I was finding other babies, so I just put them with this mama. I don 't know if the babies were hers but they are now.
