Ahhh...I'm sorry to hear that. No, no sign of her.
I think the owls got her. I've been hearing a lot of them at night.![]()
I do still have my other four guineas though.

I'm glad to hear that Winnie did well.

Ok, was it Pam or Ron? The running and screaming is what the future would look like at our house. I'm not sure which of my boys it would be...probably the older one who is ever so slightly afraid of the chickens. He will pick them up if I ask him to, but always holds them out and away from his body like they are a dirty diaper. So, I see my oldest as the one that would run around screaming (while trying to look manly) and calling for is MOOOMMMMMM!!! My youngest would make sure he was out of the way of the rooster, and then laugh. The youngest would then feel the need to share what he saw with all of his brother's friends at school, which would spell "certain death" for the youngest. I've had boys long enough, I know just how this would go down!![]()
OHHH...I don't think so, unless I'm filming him chasing my kids! I want no visual proof of my running from a chicken!!!!Pam, I'm still laughing thinking about it !! Wish they had cameras then !! I'll never forget it and laugh every time I think about it. You need to set up the camera for next time !!![]()

Ya'll are making me want to get another dog.![]()
You don't have a dog?!!??? You NEED a dog!!! Mine, well except for the puppy, are great with the chickens. My Millie (the one that showed such bravery earlier this morning) loves all the hens. She usually licks the Polish hens. She will also go out and herd the strays back to the others if she thinks they have gone off too far. My old dog Gus, just looks at them, then me and all but says "Really, you got another mouth to feed?!?". My puppy (catahoula) Bleu just REALLY REALLY wants to eat chicken!!! He is NEVER out when the girls are out!!
A dog could also help with the fire tendencies...you could teach it to hold the matches!![]()
Terri,
Did you ever find out anything about the mama guinea? You mentioned them cutting the field a while back.
No, no sign of her.

X 2 I think you need a dog, too! Seeing how wild Winnie & Mal go when you visit, I know you'd be the love of some lucky pooches' life!
Thanks.
There is a cute little squirrel that comes to visit every day and I love squirrel stew but I'll give him a pass. I won't shoot him.He better be glad that my grape wine is almost ready or else.
