I want to build a hoop type tractor, a big one, to move them around in, but I don’t want to get them until after the pecans fall & we get those picked up, since they’ll be out under the pecan trees. Keep us informed with reports as often as you can in reference to their growth, feed comsumption, etc. I would love to hear how your CX project progresses. Also would love to know staring and ending weights. When will you be getting your 25 CX and where are you geting them from?

Somehow I missed this until I saw kuntrygirls response.  I went back and looked till I found it.  I am sorry for your friends losses and glad you had only a "near miss".  I fall back on my usual rant of "There's a special place in hell for people who abuse children, animals...you can add steal hard earned money to my list.

Yeah, he donated enormous amts of money in Antiqua and became knighted there with other people's money. He was hailed as one of the world's greatest philanthropists. He is in jail basically for the rest of his life. They say he was depressed in jail. Oh, boo hoo. I bet not as depressed as all the retired people that lost everything while he flew around the world like royalty. He also got beat up in jail. Apparently criminals don't like people that steal from old people any more than they like child predators. It's cool that his life is ruined, but that doesn't get those people's money back. Then the Trustee hires a bunch of lawyers to sell off his assets to reimburse his victims. For a while all my money was frozen, but I'm not complaining because I got mine back. Then the lawyer bills were coming in in the millions but nothing for the victims. Then the lawyers said that the earnings that the victims received over the years had to be paid back bec the earnings weren't real, he was paying investors with the money of other investors, (Ponzy) so the poor victims that lost everything were being billed thousands to the lawyers (called a Claw Back). My friend lost $200,000 and was lucky bec some of her money wasn't invested in the bogus CD's. She thinks she may get a couple of thousand. Like in $2,000. The lawyers got really rich. She's still waiting in the couple of thousand. So much of the money he spent wasn't in assets that could be sold, there was a ton spent on just having lots of fun. He bought one multimillion dollar house then bulldozed it. They said when he started to think he might get caught he started to bulldoze assets just so the victims couldn't have any reimbursement. And the financial advisors working for him would get a $25,000 bonus for every $100,000 of the bogus CD's they invested the client's money in. One of his advisors lived in Bocage Lakes in Baton Rouge in a mansion. His wife had about 50 designer purses (500-2,000 each) that she was selling for $50 to get some cash when their acct was frozen. They moved to Houston. Not prosecuted!!!!! But, hey, don't get me started.

Hope everyone is having a good week so far.

I got in touch with our friend who her hubby is deployed. So item list are sunscreen, toothpaste, lip balm, lotions and hand cream, candy, gum, sudoku or crossword books, trail mix or snack bar type items that are individually wrapped, cleansing wipes, deodorant, razors. I'm sure anything you include will be appreciated.

She sent me the apo as a picture and I need to confirm part of the letters that are not crystal clear. I don't want anything lost in translation! Communication is kind of weird for her right now because get phone can't text or call anymore. They are waiting for upgrade time with their contract. So it will probably be tomorrow evening as she has to message me through Facebook. I am sure that unit will appreciate any items you send!!

I'm really trying to stay away from my broody except just for care. I'm too nosey. So far all seems well though. She its happy to have a snack of feed from me though while on the nest. I think she is glad for not having to leave the best for a snack. But she does go out about the same time every day and then leaves huge craps in the cop! Lol! Yuck! I'm cleaning it again tomorrow because the big ones don't fall through like normal.

I woke up to my second to last broody chicken hen off her nest and only one unbroken egg and quite a few egg shells, where she was setting behind a fan in the corner of the rabbit barn. I cleaned up the egg shells, but didn't see any spilled egg mess, so I was puzzled. Wouldn't she have eaten the shells, if they had hatched out, like the other hens do? his is my first single hen hatching! Usually 3 or 4 hens will lay and brood together and hatch a communal flock. Well I got looking around and saw her under some of the rabbit cages just scratching away with a bunch of little ones trying to copy her. We how have 1 baby Rouen duck, a pekin recovering from a hurt foot, 24 baby chicks and 1very happy mama hen! One more broody hen to go and I hope all is over until the ducks and turkeys start laying again in December. I have a lot of gardening to catch up on and my back won't let me right now!

And Hubby is trying to get the outdoor rabbit enclosure built this weekend!
Does anyone have some decent rabbit cages for sale, cheap? Reasonable? Where do you guys get your wire? I might have to make my own. I bought some used a year and a half ago, but they were really made skimpy and are falling apart. The nest boxes weren't put in right and they are falling apart. To fix them, I have to take them completely apart to get in to reclamp the nests!

I have made cages before, but need to have somewhere to put the rabbits, while I fix these, so I might have to build more anyway. If anyone knows of any for sale reasonable, not too far from me, please pm me. I have 2 trailers to pick them up. A long flat one 6X24, I think and a 5x12 deep sided dump trailer. I will be so happy when the rabbitry is finished and Hubby will be greatly relieved to have the lumber as well as the rabbits out, so he can redo his shop. He needs to make some after market parts for a backhoe.
