I feel bad for the people looking into chicken keeping to reduce the cost of store bought eggs and ask how much it is going to cost to start. It took a long time to break even and I swear that my first egg cost about $500. There is nothing like baking with an egg that you literally had to wait for a hen to finally drop though.
