"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

She is a "bad example of a splash wheatan ameraucana " OR "a bad example color wise of a blue wheatan" (her "blue" is actually white where blue is supposed to be the experts over on the AM thread told me .) Lol I know Her dad was a wheatan ameraucana, her mom is a blue wheatan ameraucana both from a respected breeder - I own her mom too now lol my husband went back to the breeder and bought her mama for me lol because I didn't wanna wait for blue eggs. Funny is her mama wasn't laying either. Now they both are on FF and happy healthy almost daily layers. They lay the prettiest eggs, I love them.
Oh my goodness, what beautiful eggs! What breed is she? She's pretty too. :)

I would love to have some pretty eggs like that! I have been hearing that true Ameraucanas are hard to find. There is a breeder in Louisiana?

You have to be VERY careful about finding a TRUE Ameraucana breeder. Many, if not most of the EE breeders can't tell a rabbit from a gopher when it comes to the breed but are sure they have purebred birds - because someone else that thought they had purebred birds sold them to them as purebred. because... The cycle just continues. People often don't feel in necessary to educate themselves on a breed they plan on raising and selling. And FF is fermented feed.

That's why I'm asking lots of questions!! I have been doing my research and it seems as though true Ameraucana breeders are few and far between. I had high hopes that maybe there was one here in Louisiana. :D

She is. She's breeding molted Orps now I think tho.

My hubby went back for the hen my chicks came from when she was selling.

If I find any I'll let you know. I know a lot of people who have EEs. But not so many in state with pure AMs. I'm sure they're here tho :) took me a year to find her with wheatans and she came recommended from a member on BYC.

I used to raise them but switched to another breed. I still have two of my old girls and also a couple of Easter Eggers because we like the pretty eggs, too. LaMike in Monroe got my wheaton roo - he isn’t on here much but you can find him on Facebook. I think he’s closing out his Ameracaunas.
