I love pottery. If I see something I like at a garage or estate sale, cheap, I get it. None are valuable, I just like them.

Never know what you might find. I saw on antique road show where a lady bought a piece at a garage sale for a dollar. It turned out to be a George Oar worth mega bucks. Same with Newcombe collage. They're out their I hope you find one.

Not so. They are lovely pieces. The value is what you hold them at. People asign value to objects. And besides, you never know if you are picking things up at garage and estate sales. Now days estate sales have fewer items that the value is not known. And if you like it, you have given it value. Therefore, you payed little for items of value to you. It is a way of looking at it. This piece is worth little but is of great value to me.

Found out there is some farmer in Texas who delivers orders to a casino parking lot twice a week.... seeds, vegetables, tree saplings... does this seem weird? I have never done any of this since we dont usually have places around me that i know of that sell much... place outside of Coushatta has a GREAT spot they sell by the road OF their farm... but that's all I have seen. Course i may not have looked hard enough. Mostly it's just older men by their trucks full of stuff on the side of roads...

No, it doesn't sound weird. He had to ask permission to trade there and the casino sees it as possibly bringing some of those people in so they can make money too. It's a win-win. The farmer may not want people at his farm at all hours because of safety. It also creates a location that his customers can find him at certain times. We live in a strange world now with movie shootings and the knock out game, if I were to sell anything I know I wouldn't want people at my place that I didn't know. I have noticed in Texas that there aren't road side trucks like we have here, it makes me wonder if they have some sort of law against it.

Quick hi! (I'm home for lunch) Our computers at work are acting up -- for some reason, I can get on BYC & see the posts but it won't let me answer them. Just my luck more of IT dept. messing around w/our fun stuff - we already can't access FB or any "social networking" sites & you never know what it considers 'social networking" - the other day I was reading a sports article & it blocked me!

Chilly here but only a small chance (30%) of snow/sleet/rain tonight, tomorrow & tomorrow night. I don't care! my game plan tomorrow is to stay next to the fireplace in my warm sweats & read! If the weather's bad that's even better as I won't feel guilty that I'm not outside doing chores!

have a good afternoon everybody!
