If I can get away without clipping them then I will. I never clipped the wings of my chickens when I lived in Idaho, but I acquired my flock from a man my husband served with when he got orders for another base. So this is my first time raising chicks from hatching.

i have read about something called Proso, i am considering possibly tilling in some seeds to my chicken pasture, has anyone planted this for their chickens and is there any other recommendations for planting other fodder for chickens

I bought some grass seeds from My Pet Chicken that comes in special packs especially for chickens. I'll plant them under my screens in spring.
