"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Some more photos of my new babies. The black ones are marans, right? There are a few with spots on their heads that I assume are male. They only had two spotless ones.

Hey guys, been a while and there is no way to catch up on all these posts! I was hoping to find a group of bantam chicks to go with one little serama that hatched under the hen. Long story short, she was sitting on a dozen eggs, I left town, kids and husband freak out when it hatched, brought everything inside under a heat lamp and I believe the rest of the eggs were cooked or dried out under the heat lamp. Need a friend for our little one, but don't need 6 (from tractor supply).

Anyone going to the swaps with bantam chicks? I'd be willing to drive a bit Saturday morning and we're even going to Lafayette for soccer in the afternoon.

About those women-folk, a neighbor's child came over telling me she had a idea for a chicken coop but her dad thought that she didn't know anything and wouldn't listen. I told her I designed and built the coops in my backyard and that a woman CAN do things, especially if she has an opportunity to TRY.

Hi!!!!! Great to see you on the thread ChickenMess. We've missed you. I hope everything is well at your house. I believe you have made a difference in that little girl's life. My dad always expected me to be able to do anything. He always said I could easily outdo my brothers, and I did. My mom's first response, still today, is to list all the reasons I can't do something, and all the ways it will go wrong. Encouragers are gold.

Welcome back. So great to see you.

Great story about the little girl. I"m so glad that you extended those encouraging words to her. You definitely made a difference in her life. It's always great to have positive people in your life and those who encourage you to move to the next step. Planting the seed is always the first step and then the idea will grow. Bravo to you! :bow

Don't stay away so long next time. We missed you!!!

Your mom's response is still that today? WOW! So glad that you didn't listen to those words.

We ALL are responsible for encouraging the next person. You never know if you can do something until you try. That's the first step.

Hahaha I would lay down and be dog piled. Lol no one ever talks about the crazy bunny lady....

X2!!!! I was just explaining a situation to my kids yesterday.......how their Daddy keeps encouraging someone, even though they are WELL into adulthood. But sometimes it takes people a long time to gain self confidence and see their own potential. It is finally paying off for this other person who is now being hired at a much better paying job that is the kind of work that this person is GREAT at!! They deserve to have a job like this and we are so happy for them that they finally went for it! I hope our kids can be such encouragers.
