Sice my chickens tend to till and peck my garden to death each year, we decided to cover it..?! He has a good idea, but is formulatin it as he goes... Got some wildlife netting 14x100 for only $14 at Lowes, now to build the structure. After tilling, this is as far as we got so far. Sadly, my veges are waiting to be planted!!

While everyone is on plants, WHAT IS THIS TREE????? It's growing good, 8 feet tall so far, at his dads place. But all this man keeps is fruit bearing mostly, so I'm curious...

They spent a lot of time pulling on the hardware cloth and loosened a top corner near the nesting box, just enough to put his head in and grab them one by one. The black dog took them out and the brown dog started chowing down. The black one scared my husband, so that is why he shot at him. He could not get them to stop and then the black one looked like he was going to charge at him.

You are protected your husband tried to scare them off. Then he felt scared. You can shot when you fear for yourself. There are tons of stories of police shooting people's dogs because they feel threatened . I myself would use a pellet gun this first time. After they know what happened depending on their reaction like if they were sorry and paid all damages including fixing the coop. If they stepped up and this was a one time thing of them getting out I could understand. If they didn't and were pissey about the whole matter I would have no recourse but shooting. Your top priority right now should be fortify your coop where they broke in. Save your recites incase they are sorry and want to make amends. Pam

I think it's sassparilla which is fela that is put in gumbo. Don't use it with out getting that confirmed. That and wild bay laurel look very similar . Yes bay leaves. But I'm not positive it's hard to tell from a picture. Look them up and compare. Could be something totally different. I have both. I can post pic of mine. There are a few different kind of bay leaf.

Cleaned out the rabbitry and saw Cracker, one of our does making a nest! Nooooo! Waaaaaaiiiit! It the coldest night of Spring! Why NOW? You betta hold them in girly!

10 minutes later she had at least 6! , 7 maybe but didn't want a draft to get them so let them be :th they neva listen. Hopefully they do just fine. They are sheltered and we put the side tarps down to block winds and a blanket over the mamas cages just for extra draft protection. Maaan I hope they make it. Mama did great! Even let me peek without taking a finger! (Cracker loves us, unless her babies are close, then she becomes wicked protective. But she seems to have mellowed out a bit this litter :) I don't want her to lose them over an hour or two in the 30's tonight...uh she loves her space too, she will be uber p%#$ed if I move her.
