"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Hey eveybody, hope your night was better than mine. A storm knocked a pole down and we were without power for 14 or so hours. No lights, toilet because no well water, no stove, no A/C, no TV or internet AND no juice go to the incubator. It was off and registering 75 degrees this am. Day 19 on my 15 white ply. rocks. I'm so disappointed.. Clint (SIL) ran to Home Depot and got a generator for the dog boarding shop. He was so worried that someone would come along and steal it that he slept in the truck.

Aimee teased him about it and put a pic on FB I was already in bed when he went or I'd have moved my incubator in there with the dogs.

OK, so we watched that chicken video y'all posted the other day, but somehow missed the part where the jaguar ate it! So glad my little girl didn't see that lol.

Also, my husband brought a stray kitten home today too. He went to the doctor today and on his way out he picked up a kitten who was meowing in the bushes. It has a huge gash in its let so we cleaned the wound and put medicine on it. The kitten is now in the kennel in our laundry room. The other cats sleep in there which is why the baby is in a kennel. I don't think it could defend itself.

You do know that cats can't take the same meds like a dog?

We used leftover medicine from when one of our cats got into a fight. He had to stay in the vet hospital for a week ($300 bill!!!) and they sent him home with an ointment to rub on wounds. We are using some of that.

Outrageous how the bills can add up. Our old dog got an ear infection and it was $170. Pitiful. He's a rehomed dog that Aimee had in her boarding shop for 6 months. An English Labrador. They are the stout ones that look like a barrel. He is 10 yrs old and weighs 110. Aimee finally got tired of putting him in the kennel at night and told the owner he didn't have to pay anymore because he was going to be our inside dog. It has worked out surprisingly well. Considering our 6 pound Diva ChiquaquaPoo.Angel. Cain is like a rock. Nothing upsets him. And he has never had any loveys like most dogs and just will sit for hours letting you pet him. When I try to stop he slaps that paw at me to say, "Don't stop. "

Aw. That's so sweet! He's trained you. Lol! :gig I'm mailing your turmeric today!

The three I have from that hatch are starting to turn red in the comb n wattles. So it shouldn't be long before they lay
Mine are to, and the pelvics are separated fairly well, but the mixed ones are developing at a different rate, from what i can tell, there are about five different breeds or cross's, it even shows in the roos, 1 looks like barred rock, 3 look penciled and one looks half dark and half light barring. All 5 of those are on the harvest list.

Oh Yea!!!! Looking forward to it. I'm thinking of doing like they do on youtube and buy a bag of manure compost and poke holes in it several times. Turn it over and cut out the top and plant things in it. It would be cheaper for me than trying to garden and weed. Container pots that are close to the water. I just want a few things and be able to plant a fall garden for the winter greens for the chickens.
I'm loving my little super blue egg layers. They are so friendly and not as skittish as they were before. Soon I'm gonna have all 24 in the big coop. Of the first 11 I noticed 5 males and the other 11 are too small to know. The extra 2, basque and sussex are female. Yea.
And yes, Cain did a fine job on training all of us. We sit up and listen when he speaks.
