I'm thinking of all the beef and pork out there.  Fed by GMO feeds with that crud in it. 

Thats why I buy organic or grass fed. You should see if azure Standard has a drop near you. I haven't forgot the tumeric its packed up and I'm going to the PO shortly. Pam

I'll have to look into the ultra kibble. Hens are doing a little better. I am trying to leave them loose all day. I am trying to see if it's an overcrowding issue contributing to the feather loss, as well as, habbit at this point. Coops coming apart for another deep cleaning this weekend. I should have some new sand soon, as one of the jobs is almost ready for brick. I'll get the leftover sand.

That's one advantage of being in construction. I love free building materials.

My coop and yard look like crud. After the last rain I put down peat moss because I was out of shavings. Now it's just muddy. Even with a tin roof. Still yucky. I do have some cedar shavings. Can I use this for a completely open dog kennel coop?

Good news girls and guys, I ordered a doz Silver Grey Dorking eggs shipped 22nd. Rooster is Horstman and hen is Urch. Some of the best breeders. I ordered from a lady in NW Ar. Very close. Wish me luck. I could sell more of these than the white dorkings that I originally wanted. I was buying them for the handyman that turned out to be a jerk. Huh-uh. Gonna keep them myself.

No I couldn't afford the price or energy to lift all the heavy bags.

You might be surprised at "bulk" pricing. Having a load delivered and dumped. I'd then invest in a couple of small plastic dump trucks and bribe the neighbor children to "drive" it where you want it. lol... It would be a great project for a high school kid, or youth group. When I factored in constantly changing shavings, etc., I've save a lot of $$$.

I think I read cedar is a no,no it's not good for there respiratory system. You use pine you can double check but I'm pretty sure that's what I read.

I don't change it. I do deep litter. Just keep adding about and inch or two ever so often. I do the fermented feed deal and the poop just disintegrates. It's a great idea about the little dump trucks.

I'm in the sticks with no kids around.
