"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

I like talking to all of yall everyday about chickens and other fowl, because my wife just isn't into birds. I can say atleast she doesn't complain about them and she does listen when I talk about my birds she just doesn't get into it. Lol

Cadjien_De_Louisiane and Kuntrygirl, I made myself a note about the kennels. I think that I'll have 7 available. Four of them have temporary tops that have lasted four years and going.... The tops are vinyl roofing material. They could probably be reinforced to last another few years. Two others have chickenwire over the top. I have three different sizes: ranging in size from 5 X 10 to a 10 X 10. We know for sure that we need to move by next March. So, sometime between now and next March they've got to go. If you don't hear from me by September please ask me about them. Thanks!

My husband is kinda like that. He loves the chickens as long as he doesn't have to get his hands dirty. You should see him back up when I hand him a dirty egg

He'd kill me if he knew I said that!

He a very good husband though and worships the ground I walk on. I couldn't ask for a better man.

What do you mean Steven? Which thread hasn't accepted you?

By and large this one , but understand there are mostly women on here and I am a man and with the way the world is today , people have to be cautious . I am one of those people that never meets a stranger , and can yack with anyone . I have sent out a few pm's just to get some more specific info and have gotten no response . Figure most I see on here know each other personally and don't accept strangers . I may be wrong but it's how I feel . So I am venting . I am happily married and love my birds and enjoy learning more about this here chicken , since I have a few now and am finding out they are an amazing fowl !!!

Wow! Stephen, if you sent me a PM and I didn't answer I am very sorry. I've been running around crazy the last few months and will probably be running around crazy for the rest of the year.

Believe me, if I have the time I'll be more than glad to share my opinion with you. I am very FULL of opinions!!

Great! I'll candle mine tonight. Also, if the temperatures would cooperate, "Cottage Rose" who has AWESOME sebbies said that she could send me a splash gosling if we can ship. I will be doing dna tests very soon on my new goslings to see what I have. The two splash goslings I have are very pretty. At first I thought that they were a pair but now after thinking about the breeding combinations I think that they are more likely the same sex. If they end up being the same sex I'll let you have one. I'll post pictures soon so that you can see them.

Unless you vover your entire pen with it its not going to keep either out. i/2 inch would work completely covered though.
Best way to keep out snakes is to surround your pen with loose rolled bird netting.

Mike ,
Please let me know where I can look at this bird netting ? What are the diameters of the squares on it ? Thanks

Sounds great Twiley and glad you made it home safe with all them teradactyles

Stephen you can get it at lowes or home depot . I use 1 inch netting. Snakes can crawl in it but cant crawl out so generally get hung up and tied down. It really does work great and everyone I have told about it loves it

Its not really that expensive or anything and will last a couple years.
