Got info from a lady in Texas named April. She and Bev Davis exchange marans to add diversity to their lines. Her prices were reasonable (maybe a show price?) so I was considering buying some eggs to hatch and some of her eggs were incredibly dark. I was going to get a mix of S,BC,W. I'd be have to get you some on the same order and save shipping. I was thinking of ordering after the 17th when I get back from California.

Sounds good I would like to read the info Lemon gave, I'll do that before you get back. I'm not in a hurry but I like the idea to save on shipping. Pam

Ha!! :clap. When I read this it reminded me.

This is a picture off of the Marans fb page that I saved for myself so I could write down the persons info. That's kind of funny. (Her business card upper right of picture).

Lol! That is the same lady! She was really knowledgeable when I spoke to her. And she had some beautiful marans. :)

Right! Me too. I almost wished that I had found that page before I bought the eggs that I have in the incubator. But chicken tastes good and time always makes room for more down the road at my house. So I'm just glad at least that now I have an idea where to look for really good ones. I don't think I would buy the darkest ones I saw from someone on that page though. His were like $250 a dozen. But they are DARK eggs for sure.

These are my FBCM eggs I got off ebay out of Texas.Only had 10 hatch at the beginning of August. Then the coons got a couple. I know I have at least 3 roos from that hatch

I hatched few of these eggs for a friend. His marans have good color too
