I am experimenting with three breeds, Cornish Chancler Cross with White Rock , Cornish Chancler Cross with white Breese, and just the white breese themselves. My Cornish Chancler Cross are mean little devils....I am on the verge of just kicking them to freezer camp early they are in with my gentle giant Orpingtons who just peck them when they misbehave. But they are little terrors. They jump on the backs of the Orpingtons who outweigh them by 10 to 12 lbs and pull feathers peck their necks, and when on the ground peck their feet. that's when the orps peck them on the head.I new to keeping chickens so can't be of much help but I can "Welcomb" you to the thread.

I am, but have no intention of keeping all of them. My culls are headed for the freezer, my extra's will be sold and rehomed. I am keeping the best for breeding and eggs. Ill keep one rooster to five hens ratio. Those that are not already spoken for will go up for sale in March or April. There is nothing wrong with them, but I have a set number I want to keep. Any with issues wont be sold, they go straight to freezer camp ASAP. Nothing aggressive stays alive for long and definitely will not be used for breeding. So what ever extra I have are gone come spring. whether laying or not. I try not to think of how many I have, id probably feed overwhelmed if I dwelled on it for too long.
They are sweet birds I love their temperament. Mine are a mix of 5 bloodlines. All have the same temperament they are definitely my favorite. I just wished they breed true. I hatched 24 blrw this morning from the foley line and they are all very healthy and fluffy and seem to be blue and black, I am crossing my fingers, I did not see any splash In the mix which is even better. If you can find a good rooster, grab him If you can. The blues seem to grow bigger than the gold laced, or maybe its just the bloodlines I have. They are very layed back and the roosters are not aggressive with other breeds as a matter of fact, mine run from confrontation. That is why I am willing to hatch so many at one time.
