Is that air cell too giant? They're all like that, practically 1/4 to 1/3 of the egg. I'm so afraid I'll have shrink-wrapped chicks and I won't be able to handle it.![]()
Don't stress, you're doing fine! You'll have a great hatch.
She will probably have a perfect first time hatch!![]()
I'm so incredibly inept on candling. I can tell the clears. Period. I'll try this next time.I'm up late too. As you get closer to hatch day its easier to tell. Dark mass is chicks. This time I candeled from light at top and would move to side of egg. This workes better for me than lighting the bottom up. Pam
Gotta chuckle on this. When I first got my incubator I had it out in the storeroom. In the first day it went from 99 to 110 spiking all over the place. Kept trying to adjust and lower and finally brought it in the house with a continual 70 degree temp. I hatched 11 out of 15 shipped eggs. The very best ever. I never got any even close. Thanks Cody! I had two power outages during incubation and then the dog unplugged the incubators for 12+ hours. Then Saturday during lockdown the incubator spiked to 104!
it's amazing I got them hatched!
I think the one with the backward leg is a splayed leg, so I used a straw and rubber band to help it strengthen. So far he just gets picked on by the others.
