The vet that comes out and does my NPIP testing is awesome. He wears full protective clothing - boot covers, clothing covers, gloves...the whole 9 yards. They park at the road, gear up before they get out, and they dispose of everything in my trashcan before they get back in their vehicle.

I spent the entire day cleaning and disinfecting also. I am exhausted but very happy to get so much done.

that is very good of them to do that...seems like you have someone that knows what they are doing...i will keep you posted on how my npip person shows up like....hope its the same...just got call the cinnamon golden hens are getting shipped out today....should be here wednesday...yeah

Hey everyone! I have a friend who's raises garden produce, bees for honey, etc and sells at a farmers market. He wants to go in the "egg" business to offer that to his customers as well. What he's looking for are pretty colored eggs (blues, greens, dark brown) Do any of you have or know of anyone with chicks, pullets or layers for sale that would lay any of these colors? And do you have their contact info I could pass along to him? Thanks for any help you can provide!

I know topdog is selling plenty of chicks and he has colored egg layers. I think there are others too. I just want to say to your friend. PLEASE don't under price your eggs! I've seen people around here with them for $1.50-$2.00 a dozen. That is nuts! Kroger sells plain brown, free range eggs for $6.00! And that isn't local, super fresh. Your friend deserves a fair price.

Don't worry about pricing....he's very savvy when it comes to that. He has an organic farm and you wouldn't believe the price people would pay for organic produce! He has checked out the market and part of his strategy is that he knows the colored eggs will sell for MUCH more...even though we know they're the same thing as a white egg. Lol. Thanks for the tip. I thought I remembered Top dog was selling but I could find the link to his site anymore. I will send him a PM!

Cody, are your chicks still gummy? I'm off to town for the bacitracin. I didn't realize it was regular pharmacy stuff. I took the cap off one chick and the membrane still had blood vessels, so I don't want it to dry out.
Hey Camping, just letting you know I didn't ignore you. I lost my internet over the weekend(again

) Sounds like your chicks made it out ok with your help. That's great! Mine are doing good except for one. It has a breathing issue(breathes very fast) and sleeps a lot. It had to be one of the two pullets of course

. I found on the forum where chicks like this sometimes grow out of it and some don't, some die as they get older. I definitely don't want to hatch it's eggs if it lives that long. Anyway.... I'm back online now
