"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

You don't have the roo to match? Pam

This is my roo, I think he's a mix. He is my absolute favorite out of my whole flock.

Anyone having trouble with gnats? I've noticed them lately and then my sister just got 5 chickens that were older already laying and she only has 1 left! And that was in maybe 24 hours. She read that they are really bad right now. Any tips on prevention?

Naturally hatched 8 of 8 silkies. 100percent. Lost ine the day after its legs and toes were curled

If you give them vitamins from hatch 9 times out of ten the turned in foot will straiten out. Now chicks can't have iron. I 've used save a chick Both packs at once. Now I'm using rooster booster. It's safe for chicks has everything they need cost effective. My last hatch had one turned in foot. It was fixed the next morning.Pam

Chickens eat gnats. I would think pullets die in 24 hours they had something when she bought them home always quarantine for 30 days before adding to your flock. I would have had a necropsy to know what was wrong some diseases can live in the ground for a year or more.Pam

I have heard of those, hope I never see them in person. I had some smaller ones last year that I sprayed with vanilla extract/water combo. It help, but only temporary. Hope she finds a way to get rid of them!!!

This was their first experience with chickens. They came from a family member that raises them and had given them 5 they weren't there 24 hours before all but one died. I didn't read about the vanilla so I just dragged my son outside to spray some around the coop and on them. At least till the morning when I can maybe go get something to spray from tractor supply to spray their coop down with.
