"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

I'm trying not to learn the hard way, but seems I am learning that way. Guess every situation is different.

Had a not so fun experience last night during the bad weather. Our newly build run was flooding, so me & husband had to get out and rescue the chicks, then try to get things to drain. About an hour later, things were draining nicely.

Checked on chicks this morning, because we had to put them in coop with 3 grown Rhode Island Red Bantams and they were all alive. We separated them back into their sections in the run. I'll check them later today to make sure no one was injured during the night.

I'm starting to wonder what I was thinking when I decided to keep chickens

There are challenges along the way, but the good of chicken keeping far out weighs the bad.
Btw, welcome to the forum! I'm in Zachary.

I live in Erath and I raise. CCL, olive eggers, &. Silkies. I do have some Reese bloodline cream crested legbars $20 a pair and extra roosters if anyone is interested. They are roughly 2-3 days old. Pictures of parents are not for sale.
