If you talk to him, please let him know that we asked about him and are hoping that things turn out ok.

OH! That's awful news,..

what Julie said... X2

That has to be really upsetting. I don't know what I would have done if my birds didn't pass the NPIP yesterday. I hope none of his birds had to be destroyed.

Yeap! The bird is killed and sent to LSU for testing. Luckily I didn't ask that question until AFTER my birds were tested or I would have been a nervous wreck!

Crows, please don't say the "C" word. Crows are out and are full of mischief these days. My turkeys whooped up on a crow 2 days ago and he flew off with his tail between his legs.

I hope it doesn't return.

Why ME!?

Ya know,.. I used to feel the same way about crows as you,.. but I have grown to LUV those crows,.. I have seen them chase off hawks several times from our place! Really gave them what for.
We lost Rocky to a hawk last year and the neighbor just had one take a hen last week

I'll take your crows! Olivia says Turkey vs Crow,.. the video would have won you 10,000 in AFV!!!

My crow problem started a few years ago when the crows were STEALING my chicken eggs. I noticed that I had a reduction in eggs and coud not for the life of me figure out what was going on. I drove home from work one day a few years ago and saw a crow on the gate with an egg in it's mouth. My turkeys were also on the gate with their wings fluffed up and in a heated "face off" with the crow. It was 3 turkeys against 1 mean crow. After a few "Tag Team/You're In Next" my turkeys scared the crow away. That crow never returned until now. I have another pest on my hands. I hope my younger turkeys took care of this crow.

I would surely take a crow over a hawk. I can easily replace the eggs that the crows steal but it would be devastating for me to lose a hen.

And Olivia is right, a video would have been great. I did run inside to get the video camera but by the time I made it back out there the "gun fight" was over. Maybe I'll catch it on tape next time. I'll post it for Olivia to see.

Living in the country in a very dry area. little rain = wet spots near and under home = 2 water moccasines
I was weed eating and smelled something near my trash can and thought nothing of it figured it was the trash can. Started weedeating in front of the house hit one with the weedeater by the time I made it to the back side hit another one near the trash can. Thats what I was smelling. I laugh at my 2 year old yesterday because when we walk to the back of the property I only let her go so far, I tell her "no no there might be snake we have to be carefull". Yesterday we where holding hands walking in the yard and we got to some tall grass and she said "watch for snakes daddy". Got to love them kids. lol

That is great news. Even though it is a lot of work, I still plan on getting it done. Thanks for the update. That's what I needed to hear.
