"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Have you checked their feed?? I know I read a thread a good while back that someone was loosing all their birds and couldn't figure out why. They ended up finding a huge mass of molded feed in the sack. They pretty much had to start all over because of it. I found some feed like this once and thought I'd loose everything. I got really lucky and quit buying Nutrena brand feed. That's one reason I do like buying from Tractor Supply becuase they will only keep like 3 pallets and order every week so you it hasn't been sitting there.

I hope you get it figured out real roon!!

I'm to the point that I'll try anything. It cant get any worse. My feed store had tetracycline. I mixed it and some vitamins into all the waterers. If all my animals die, I'm done. I cant do this again. I've had a couple of predatory killings and the occasional chick smooshed under his siblings, but when you find out, its over and done with. This drawn out watching them die and not being able to help is torture.

I can't even imagine what you are going through. I would be a total wreck.

Let's just think positive in that they will find out what's wrong and you will be able to keep alive the rest of your flock.

What are all the symptoms with the animals?

Hey. Does anyone feed chicken scratch to their chickens? The reason that I asked is because I went to the feed store that I buy my 30% protein Game Bird Feed from and the girl rang me up for a few bags. When I drove around to the loading dock, the guy in the back said that they were out of the game bird feed and the cashier knew that and that she should not have sold it to me. Well anyway, he offered to give me 2 - 50lb bags of Chicken Scratch for any inconvenience that it caused me and told me to come back on Thursday because the feed would be in then. So, of course, I took the free bags of scratch. I know that Chicken Scratch IS NOT a feed that you can feed chickens on a regular basis. I know that it's fed as a "treat". So, I was just wondering if any of you feed Chicken Scratch to your chickens?
