Good Morning everyone! Hope all is well in your lives!!

I'm hoping to get to spend some time with my birds tomorrow, I really need to to pick out the best roosters out of the SS to keep and try and get rid of the rest on CL. Thanks goodness all 9 of these grew up together cause it would be pandamonia if not!!

So what's everyone been up to besides trying to stay cool???

Hey there La-yers, sure is hot out there ain't it? I'm having water well problems believe it or not, never happens when the weather is nice and cool, always when its hot and dry huh? The water table is too low this time of the year for the set up I'm using(asking it to do more than its designed to do). Anyway gonna have to get that all fixed up and hope for rain soon to bring the water table back up to a safer level. Im just glad its got some in it still as I'm putting out 20 -25 gals of water daily just for the birds much less the household too, we take short showers and try not to have more laundry than absolutely needed I just barely water my garden hoping that a rain shower will pass sooner rather than later and revive it some but other than that prolly fixing to let it go to im gonna miss that fresh Okra and peas though. Oh well theres next season I reckon and hope for a better one than this year has been. WAY too much work for the benifits(fruits of my labors) I guarontee ya that its a whole lot cheaper at the fruit stands for sure but just don't compare to home grown though if you get my drift.

So what's everyone been up to besides trying to stay cool???

I spent two hours tearing my cooktop apart & giving it a thorough cleaning. Stainless is such a pain to clean! Now my nails are a fashionable blue - stained by the brillo pads, lol. I am going through my kitchen cabinets one at a time, taking everything out, cleaning & rearranging & pitching useless clutter. I did my main cookware cabinet & now everything is nice & neat & HAS MATCHING LIDS! Mama pin a rose on me!!!

Had a county/sewer issue ... My wiring and breaker in my main box went out,and had to replace 100' of NM underground 220 and the breaker so my sewer would be back up and running....Otherwise,everything is normal around here..

For the resource thread I am aiming for Post #8000 which should be Page 801!!! Soooo keep an eye out for it...lol..​

Another heat related situation today. One of my Black Austrarlops was laying on her side in the chicken house when I went in to check on everybody after work. I brought her inside in the AC and put a bowl of cool water in front of her. She is chilling out right now. I will keep her inside for a few days to monitor her.

She was one of the youngest ones!! I haven't had any of them act like the heat was really bothering them. I know that the shade cloth has helped tremendously.
