It's still raining a little over here I had to make a dash outside to check on everyone and close the coops. I don't know what kinda weather that was but it was ugly. I have lawn chairs all over the place. It's a mess. I hope all of the birds got somewhere safe. The weather MUST have been bad in order for the turkeys to go in the coops. They NEVER NEVER NEVER go into the coops. They roost on top of the chicken house, so something spooked them. I guess the winds were too strong for them and they had to run for cover.

I hope everyone is ok out there.

Oh I SO know how you were feeling!! 2 days in one week was MORE than enough for me!! <whew>

I thought I was literally going to DIE. The first thing I thought was, "Who is going to feed the chickens in the morning if I die tonight."

I figured you all were getting the bad weather. We had wind, dust, thunder, lightning -- and NO rain. Nada.
I'll have to get up early in the morning & water everything w/the hose.

Lotta pages to backtrack & catch up on but time to get to bed for now.
Missi your #77 looks like a tough cookie! I feel for those kids, playing in this kind of heat!

Have a good evening everybody..

I will have to get up early as well Terri.

Mike, your gander is very pretty. What is your other one looking like?

Next week, I'll be picking up two females from Gracie. One is white and the other is splash. One of them will be making a road trip to your house.

Terri or Missi hatches all roosters -- well I bought all ganders!!!

5 out of the 6 goslings I bought in Missouri turned out to be male. The other one I didn't test because I thought it was a female. I think I'd better test that one too. Also, the saddleback gosling that I hatched is male. The good thing about the saddleback is that he is split to buff. Now, I have WAY too many males. Mike, I have a curly breasted white gander with light buff coloration on his back. I've been told that the buff coloring will likely fade to white. We believe the mother was a buff saddleback but we're not 100% sure because the flock was not separated for breeding. My guess is that this gander will carry the saddleback gene and the buff color gene. He's nice looking and I think he needs to make a road trip to your house too. I'll post pics when I get a chance.

Morning Pips and Peeps.... I feel like shizad this morning and really do believe i look worse...lol.... Kinda dark outside, maybe overcast.Might be gettin some of ya'lls rain.I sure hope not.I really want to get to work on my dirt getting in the pen project.Gotta get er done...1 so I can get the younguns on the ground and 2 so steve will quit spreadin it in the front. He has decided that he likes to lay on the highest point of the yard...That being the sand pile....lol....I'm hoping he didn't mess himself up too bad with that colic. He tends to roll and lay down more than he used to.But he's still stubborn as ever....actually mabe more. Although I really think some of the stubborness (besides still being a man) is from having all the shots, and shoving oils and stuff down his throat, and just having to be generally rough and demanding for 3 days straight to keep him on his feet and going.

Good morning ya'll. It was a disaster outside in the yard last night. I was up at 5:00 AM trying to clean things up. I also had to do the chores from the evening before. I was out there for 2 hours this morning and still not done. There were limbs and branches EVERYWHERE. Tin was blown off the dog kennels where some of my baby ducks are. It was TERRIBLE. I'm so tired and it's not even 9:00 AM.
