Wow thanks! I plan to get this project going next spring. I have to build a fence and address the coyote nuisance in our neighborhood. I will be getting back to you on the eggs once I get these issues addressed. I will also be running a water line to keep their pond filled.

Hello La-yers! I drove up to the family property today to quite a greeting... dogs barking, turkeys gobbling, sheep screaming for food, and a donkey bellowing. I didn't even know we had a donkey! See what happens when you are gone all week! 4 more weeks of academy, and I will be home to keep an eye on all my critters again. I can't wait. This life on the road is getting old.

Oh BTW, my black copper Maran pullets started laying this week! Finally!

Julie, they pick on me too, I am NOT an LSU grad--- I am an LC Wildcat grad & I dont' give a flip if LSU wins or not. I tried to finish my degree at LSU-A & if I'd held to their "adult/evening class schedule (2 classes a semester & if 30 people didn't sign up they canceled the class) well--I'd still be trying to finish my degree.. LC came through for me.

Got 2 roos left - the best Blue Wheaton Ameracauna & Welsummer. They are alive only on contingency of their good behavior. One false move, one pass my direction, one too many early morning crows, & they are history. I only let them live because of you all!
