The muscovies are pretty big so a half dozen would be plenty to start with. Im jealous that you have so many ducks to eat. If you were closer I would buy some meat from you. I miss eating duck gumbo. It is rare that you find duck for sale in the grocery store. I used to hunt them but its been years since I did that. Next Spring I will get some eggs from you to hatch some if you still have them. Thanks for the response.

Mike, I have a few muscovies, and a few pekin ducks that I bought this past spring. I also hope to have TOO many ducks next spring. I may have to take lessons from Julie.

I knew you had some geese, but didn't know you had ducks too. I need to get over to your place in the near future and see your birds Twiley.

You could make a raised bed with a liner, fill it with crushed granite, and make an aquaponics system with the koi.

Here is my raised bed. It was almost dark when the picture was taken so sorry about the quality.

Here is a cheap greenhouse I got at Lowes for 50% off today. It will do until I build something better.

I received several calls this week about people wanting to buy ducks. A couple of people wanted 3 and 4 ducks and another guy said that he, his father and grandfather want a total of 50 ducks. That's kinda hard to believe that someone wants 50 ducks but we will see. I don't take them serious until money is in pocket.

Hi Twiley!
Hubby is laid up with a broken leg -- broke his tibia in two places, slipped on a dog toy. Yes, after all the years we've had dogs & dog toys in the house!

So job search is sort of crippling along too right now, he has 4 more weeks before he gets a walking cast, & can't actually walk on that for 2 more weeks, so I am the resident chauffeur & go-fer right now...& believe me, there's a lot of "go-ferring" for me to do!!

Those animals! You gotta love them. A few years ago, I tripped over my cat and broke my arm. It wasn't really the cat's fault -- I was carrying something in my arms and couldn't see what was in front of my feet. He was curled up on the driveway sleeping when I accidently stepped on him. He, naturally, tried to get away and our legs got tangled and I tripped. It was not a pretty sight.

I'm sure that Jim is very happy to have you taking care of him. Hope he gets to feeling better soon.

Well mike, the hubby decided to try and release the woodies on the pond and see if they stayed. Luckily they have, so it looks like he still wants to keep them. Let me know what kind of extras you have though, because I may want to buy a couple from you!
