"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Hmmmm okay, so I read in one of yalls earlier posts that, sometimes femals can fan too??
With my pair of India Blues, one fans quite often (the goofy baby feathers lol), but I've never seen the other fan.

My pied, really the only reason we think it's a male is bc of the sounds it makes... It sounds just like all of the videos of males... but I dunno really?? lol
The white one meows like a cat, and it was very upset when we put the baby turkeys outside this past weekend to enjoy the warm weather, it could see the babies and paced the fence meowing whenever they made their little noises.... All of them are 7-8 months.

How do you have them DNA tested and who does it?
Yes, the females can fan also.

I'm in Lake Charles. I new to BYC only been here for a couple of months. I built a coop and bought a few chickens just to try it out and I loved it. So i built another coop and am looking for more chickens. If anybody knows where I can get some it'd be great.

I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope the next batch works out.

Ok, I'm sad. . .

I lost heat on my incubator by day 4 ,

I replaced the heat source (a bulb), but I think the damage was done. I candled today (day6) and it looks like the yolk sacs are loosing shape. . . I'm so bummed.

I guess now I have to chunk them and try again. . . sigh, guess I'll try again in Feb. that's the next stretch of time that I'll be home for more than 30 days.

The grandkids are going to be more heartbroken than I am!
I'm so sorry to hear that!! My students would say "lo siento" in Spanish and Sign.

i was raising 6 ees and a stray half grown puppy showed up and killed 5 out of the 6 and the one that survived i think is a rooster

I already have 15 so 6-8 is all I would need. It doesn't matter what breed. but one that can lay more than 5 eggs a week. I want some that are older that 2 1/2 months but aren't laying. I bought 10 RIR's that were 8 Months old 6 months ago and only one has layed scince; I plan on butchering the others this weekend.

I did a quick search and found this:

Yes Strombergs is a drop shipper, no sense in paying a middle man when you can get the chicks directly from the breeder. The Exhibition line chicks they sell are bred by reknown breeder Duane Urch and if you want them, you can contact Duane directly and order them at $7.00 a chick rather than the $8.80 that Strombergs charges when they resell them.

You can find a copy of Duanes breed and price list, as well as his contact info here, https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=437644
