"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

I promise I will at least give it a try, but can't say exactly when that will happen for sure.

You guys would be VERY proud of me. I was at Tractor Supply and stood longingly gazing at all the tubs full of adorable little fluff-balls yesterday and managed to walk away without buying one. Although, the little black ducklings in amongst all the yellow ones were pleading with me; their little sad eyes begging me to take them home. Walking away from them took almost more willpower than I was able to muster.

It did help immensely that I knew my husband would give me THAT particular look of disapproval along with the head tilt of disappointment if I brought them home....and then he would question my sanity (which honestly, shouldn't be a question...I am two bricks short and don't try to hide it). Sadly, it is not as if I have room for them anyway. I have turkey eggs and German New Hampshires hatching today and pretty much every day for the next couple weeks. Plus, the "baby" brooder is still packed with Langshans and Ameraucanas. I literally have no place left for chicks unless I give up my bathtub!

Have a great day everyone!
I am proud of you for having such willpower! My DH just may divorce me in a few weeks lol! I have restrained myself from succumbing to adorable ducklings....until now. I have 6 Cayuga eggs from gorgeous SQ stock developing beautifully in the bator, and I have 7 more resting to go in. Cute little black ducklings that turn into stunning adults. Now if I can talk him into letting me keep a couple once they hatch. Sigh.

Well, you know -- a bathtub works great for a brooder. Just a thought! Hubby will get over it.

Good morning everyone. It's chilly outside. I think I will be in all day.

Quick story/vent......
I was laying in bed and I heard a horn blow. As I ignored the sound and hoped that this wasn't someone sitting in their car honking their horn for ME to get out of the comfort of my home to cater to their immediate needs, the honking did not stop. So, I looked out of the window and lo and behold there was someone parked in my yard and still honking their horn. So, I put on some clothes and I opened the door. A lady was sitting in an SUV. I asked her could I help her. She then proceeds to ask me did all of the animals belong to me. Uh well YES. Duh.... Did you think they belonged to the people that live down the road? So, she asked did I have any turkey and duck hens for sale. I told her no because they were laying. So then she asks if I had guineas that "fly". I said yes. She said that she needed flying guineas. She said that she bought some guineas from a feed store and the guy at the feed store told her that the guineas that she was going to buy were flying guineas but when she put them at her camp, predators killed them because the guineas didn't "fly"away. She said that she needed guineas to put at her camp to sleep in the trees. So that means no shelter for protection. Soooooo, that means she won't be buying any animals from me. I don't send my animals on suicide missions. I just don't get it. What's the purpose of getting birds and throwing them in a tree????

And my pet peeve is someome coming to my house and laying on the horn. I think that is sooooo disrespectful in my opinion. Get YOUR butt out of your vehicle and knock on my door or ring my bell. I usually just let people sit in their cars and blow their horns and I never go outside but this person kept honking.

Let's see how the rest of the day goes.

Have a great day ya'll.

Gosh, what nerve! Good grief what a piece of work!

Man, you showed a whole lot more self control than I would have! I am sure that by the time she got to the part about the guineas at her camp I would have told her that she was too stupid to own animals and that I sincerely hoped she was sterile; so she did not birth and rear any more ignorant, rude, self-entitled morons such as herself.

:)

Next time go to the door with your shot gun in hand. That may make her think twice next time.

I just had an old fart come creeping through the circle drive at about half a mile an hour he was gawking and looking all around but never stopped nor did I go out to see what s up if they can't at least stop and make an attempt at heading for the door to knock I don't acknowledge them there I find these folk are usually up to no good or looking for a freebie or "gimmee deal" well "gimmee" has up and died around here. If they are serious about something they will act normal and not cowardice at going about their doings IMO

You know you could cut and paste what you've written here and have a pretty good start on the book...IMO...Hum, bathtub...that's a thought. LOL

You are so right, Julie. Honk sitting is rude, rude, rude. I can remember that if someone came for me when I was a teenager and honked the horn, the only one going out of the house was my father to let them know that I would not be going anywhere. Also, when I would come home, if I sat in the car more than 2 minutes, the porch light would start going off and on. I hated it then, but can appreciate it now. Wasn't it Mark Twain or someone like that that said something like this: "when I was a young man of 16 years, I couldn't believe how little my parent knew, but when I became a man of 21, I couldn't believe how much they learned in just 5 years!" That is a terrible paraphrase, but you get the gist.

I don't think that lady got the memo!

X2. I just didn't know how to express myself that well. Thanks for speaking for me. LOL
