"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Now that is just downright MEAN. Next thing you know they are going to lose their TV or internet...geesh....poor things!!!!!!

No more freeloading, around here, I want eggs! BTW, I think your goat is a good judge of character, with the egg thief issue!

I have some golf balls that I will put in there. But I really want to catch the snake in the act. Nothing says loving like a good snake wrangling.

I live for that.

You may want to return the cell phones to them so my girls can text them and tell them to get s move on it or else.

The golf balls should work well ! I just don't like snakes at all! I guess I avoid snakes because I can't tell the poisonous from the non-poisonous! I'm not giving the phones back, so your girls will just have to send them an Email ! LOL

I saw most of the chicken hens having a meeting with the turkeys, this morning and the geese were chairing the meeting, but I am not backing down. If they do not get back to work, I will take their DVD player away next!

That's horrid! A full-grown chicken? If I had to guess, I'm putting my money on delinquents. I really don't want to sound crass or anything, but I scratched that neighborhood off of my house hunting list.

I agree, the kids coming up these days are downright cruel ! Not all, but more than not.

Lots of us in this area. There is a swap in Hammond this Sunday and one in Covington in a couple weeks. What are you looking to get?
Thanks for the info, I will try to go, that's really close to me. I don't need more chickens. I've been selling some and giving some away, because I have too many chickens. The little buggers are reproducing too much and they are all getting to be cross breeds, good healthy egg layers, but crosses !

Most kids are just too spoiled today and are getting twisted minds

Why is it they will copy the BAD behavior and not the Good ?

HELP! Having a problem, breed my rabbit & she blessed me with 5 babies that I have to feed every 2 hours because she has no MILK! Has anyone ever experienced this before? And can tell me why she has not produced milk. She is taking care of the babies keeping them warm & cleaning them like a good mommy.
Any member of the mint family will dry up the milk in a rabbit doe. Other than that, IDK, I only raise New Zealand Whites and they are reproducing like crazy. I have 10 does and they all put out from 10 to 13 kits every other month, when they download. I don't know how they nurse that many, when they just have 8 teets, but all the babies have fat little bellies. You might try giving your does some calf manner. I hear it helps a doe develop more milk, in mammals?

Calf manna has a lot of milk products in it but be wary of the amounts given too, it is a potent additive for/to regular rations, not for use as a sole food.

I was in the feed store yesterday & they had just gotten a shipment of chicks in -- what amazed me was how SMALL they were - anybody else notice this? I mean, compared to what I hatch out at home, mine are monsters in size! I felt sorry for the poor tiny little things...is this normal with hatchery chicks? It's been 7 years now since I got my three from meyer hatchery, so I really don't remember what size they were.

I noticed the same thing in the feed store the other day. They had red sex links, leghorns, and dominiques--all were the size of tiny bantam chicks.

Thanks for the advice. The bag says it is to be mixed with their regular feed, but did not say how much so I mixed in a couple scoops to 50 # bag of feed last night and planned on looking up the recommended ratio today.

The chicks at the local feed store looked very small to me, too. I got big chicks when I ordered them from McMurreys, but very small chicks when I ordered from Meyers ! I thought maybe it was that the chicks I got from Meyers were broilers. And these CornishRock broilers are almost 5 months old and just reaching 8 pounds! But that's another subject!

No coughing or sneezing? You'd know if she had bronchitis! Keep her separated until the eye heals or you find something else going wrong. Tossing the eggs depends on the antibiotic you're using--just look it up online if it doesn't say on the bottle and you'll find the info.

Maybe she's just a normal girl who needs a break from servicing her roo...

Nope, No coughing or sneezing.
My largest concern is that I have chicks in the brooder and, a bator hatch due on the 11th. Hoping that she's not sick and that my flock doesn't get sick. They all seem very healthy, but the tread I was reading on Bronchitis was filled with all sorts of doom and talk about culling the flock. . .

Jeff,
I looked up the Calf Manna on the web and it said :
Rabbits (Growing)
1 teaspoon per day
Rabbits (Lactating)
1 tablespoon per day
I asked for Calf Manna and the feed store sold me Manna Pro, which says it is for rabbits, is it the same thing? Is Manna Pro the brand name? I gave them a little more than recommended, so I should have looked it up first. The does all have a lot of kits with them and are raising their second litter in 5 months and pregnant again, to kindle next month. I breed them 5 times a year from fall through Spring and not at all in the hot months of Summer. I guess I better skip a few days. On 10 does and 114 bunnies I used about 12 pounds if the stuff or a little less than 1/4 bag. These are all New Zealand White meat rabbits and the oldest bunny I have is 11 weeks and already weened. I sold a lot of bunnies for breeding stock to people so they could start their own herd, so most of the older bunnies from 6 weeks to 11 weeks will be for the freezer. I usually process any that are not sold by 12 weeks and usually only have males left at that point. They are usually 6 to 7 pounds before slaughtering and process out to 3 1/2 to 4 pounds, not counting the liver and heart which are cooked and fed to the dogs. In the videos on utube, they show rabbits 5 1/2 #s processing out to 3 1/2 s, what am I doing wrong? I do not withhold food or water the night before because I don't want them to go hungry, if something comes up and I can't process then the next day! Would that be the reason?

After hearing that, I scratched it off of any future house there, too. I thought the same thing about delinquents. Deliquents that do things like that will also do other cruel things. Mistreating animals leads to abusing and torturing humans. This is almost always true. Sick sick sick!!!!

Did anyone read about this? This is horrible!!!!!

Dog’s Death After Westminster Leaves Handler Suspicious

One was that Cruz may have had an undiagnosed, rare genetic disorder, like hemophilia. But Cruz had no history of trauma or such blood disorders in his bloodline, Blue said.

Poisoning, whether intentional or not, seemed the most likely explanation. Blue declined for Cruz to have a necropsy because she was confident that he swallowed poison, she said.
Why wouldn't the owner have a necropsy performed to be sure?
