"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

I just started out so mostly chicks and eggs. I have a grown silkie roo and some Polish hens. I will be raising seramas, silkies, Polish, sultans, and d'uccle. I also have corturnix quail chicks.
There's a swap in DeRidder this Saturday if you're interested in looking.

Ya know, because ALL us chicken folks do at swaps is just go to LOOK.

Hi everyone! Southern California ventura county here. :) new to this sight and new to raising chickens! Have 1 buff Orpington and blue silkie:) looking for a black austrolorp and white silkie in my area :)

Quick question... I have a hen sitting on a few eggs... Once they hatch, should I take them and put them in the brooder or let her raise them? I've never let a hen hatch eggs before so this is a first for me.

I usually pull them and put them in the brooder.  Too many things can go wrong with babies on the ground.  Plus, the sooner you pull the chicks the sooner she will go back to laying again!

Hello to everyone this morning. I know I dont say much on here but I just had to brag on Ewe Crazy Farm. I bought a few LF Choc Orps from Mr. Everett and have been anxiously awaiting their arrival for about two weeks. I had also ordered a trio of CCL to accompany my little prizes. WELL, I opened the box this morning and I had TWO extra choc orps and an extra CCL Roo. I was elated!! I give Ewe Crazy Farm FIVE STARS with my experience and will definitely buy from Mr Everett again. Super nice man that aims to please his customers. I wish I was smart enough to add pics. Lol.

Happy to meet you--but this is a Louisiana thread. I don't think any of us are technically "in your area". Sorry!
