"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

mzstre, if you ever have any extra feeding storage cans, I would love to get some. I am usually in Baton Rouge once a month for a class and I could pick some up them. My next class in on the 27th of this month.

Just let me know.

Thanks

Let me know if you still want these. I have a couple for you if so. :D

You know that I almost forgot about this. I'm so glad that you brought it up. I would love to get some. And tomorrow is my class. My class starts at 8:00 AM and ends at 3:00 PM. Not sure what your schedule is but just let me know what time is convenient for you and I will meet you. Thanks.

I saw something on DYI that I am going to try.  It is to cover  a wood frame with hardware cloth, then put the frame on the ground and plant grass under it.  The chickens and bunnies can eat the tops of the greens, but not destroy the roots so it can continue to grow.  I saw fotos and people say it really works.  I want a way for my girls to get fresh growing grass.  Two of them got into the backyard a couple of weeks ago, left the gate open, and in the time it took to go to church and come back home those two chickens had made a huge mess of every garden and planted pot in my whole back yard!  So much destruction done in so little time by two chickens.  So, I am planning to put the frames in the chicken yard to give them live greens.  Have any of you heard of this or tried this before?  :idunno

This really does work. I use the frames in my tractor because I can't move it by myself and they will turn the grass into mud in no time. I still end up with patches of bare dirt where I don't have frames, but I just reseed the bare area and cover it with shade cloth to let it grow once the tractor gets moved to a new location.

I sold 2 of my gosling to a very nice retired couple this morning. They paid me for the gosling and I didn't count the money right away. Later on when I went to put the money in my wallet, I noticed that they over paid me. I immediately called them to tell them that they gave me WAY too much money. The guy was so nice. He said that he gave me a gratuity fee for me bringing the geese to them. I told him that he didn't have to do that because the stop was on my way to work and I didn't go out of my way at all. He said it didn't matter because I didn't have to do it. I told him thanks. It was good to see that there are some really nice people out there.

I had someone do the same thing last weekend! I know we gripe about the handful of crazies, but we do meet a lot of super nice people!

Julie, I don't have the luxury of your "natural incubators" and therefore have to rely on my mechanical incubator to hatch my goslings.

This past weekend was so gorgeous that my first batch of sebbie goslings got to have their first swim. Boy, did they enjoy that! They looked like a bunch of wet rats!

After their swim, they dried off and had a chance to eat grass for their first time. They sure are cute when they're all dried off and fluffy. My best guess is that two will be white, two possibly splash, one gray saddleback, and one buff saddleback. I also have one Pekin duck in the mix that thinks he's a goose. I can't separate him from the group.

Silly Duck!!

After moving this group outdoors, I hatched a "bumper crop" of sebbie goslings. As best I can tell these will either be white or splash, and possibly one saddleback.

Ashleigh, Pearl's baby is the one in the bottom right corner. That little gosling is very danity and petite -- it really looks female.

And, since 13 is an unlucky number, I was lucky and had four more babies hatch today to bring my total sebbie gosling count thus far to 17.

Congrats on the babies! Any word on our Okkie lavenders?

I will filter it in a couple of days and then the wait is on.

I think thats what I need cept I need a about a half gallon of Evan I'm sick as a dog right now with the crud I figure if Dr.Farmers receipe calls for a half pint of wiskey/2 aspirins and go to bed, then surely a half gallon would for sure make me passout and sleep plum through all the healing effects of the asiprin(lol) Huh? I haven't ever figured the "healing agent" in this concoction/cocktail other than just pure mind over matter LOL

I feel as if someone reached down my throat and pulled a wad of sandpaper out my lungs/chest back up through my throat and nostrils. sorry for the detailed description but they won't let me say what I really feel like on here the censors delete it evertime, they must've never been ill before.

:drool OMG, that looks awesome! Let me know how it comes out. I may have to make a batch of that!
I will. I go to Lake Charles about once a month, so when I plan a trip there, I will let you know and bring you a bottle (on the house - *in my bar-tending voice*) so you can have and try it.
