"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

I can't find the link for the petition. Where is it? Oh, I see it now.

Done. I have signed it.

C'mon y'all let's sign this and get the word out. Post on your FB pages and send the links to your family and friends.

Thanks kuntrygirl and everyone else who signs. I would LOVE for this thing to have over 500 signatures when my sister presents it to them next week!

I will do my part to get the word out. :thumbsup

Here are few pics from yesterday.

A couple of the boys walked over to where I was sitting to strut for me.

Some of my ducks. In the first pic, you can see a chicken in the bottom right hand corner. Well the story on him is that he was hatched alone and he is spoiled rotten, so when I am outside, he always comes running to me when he sees me and wants me to pick him up and put him on my shoulder, head or arm. So he is running over to me. That's why he is not fully in the pic. I allowed him to live in a brooder with ducks, so he hangs out with them.

There are 4 other duckling groups that have hatched in the last couple of months that their pics are not posted. Now you tell me, do I need more ducks? :barnie

Neighborhood Rabbit. He has been on the loose for 6 months. No one knows who he belongs to. Kinda like the last rabbit that got loose and set up camp in my yard. I did catch the last rabbit and he now lives in a rabbit cage in the rabbit shed.

And he makes himself comfortable in the chicken yard. He just hops in, lays down and relaxes. :/

And that's how I spent some of my day yesterday with the animals.

Good Afternoon Chicken Peeps. So, many of you don't know, but I have been waging a war against the city council of Roswell Ohio to keep an ordinance from banning all livestock (including chickens) from the city. My sister's family lives just within city limits and my niece (who wants to be a chicken lady like Aunt RahRah) has a small flock of 4 Production Reds and 2 ducks she purchased from Tractor Supply this spring.

I made a petition on Change.org, which can be seen here...https://www.change.org/petitions/roswell-ohio-city-council-stop-the-new-ordinance-banning-chickens-2 a couple weeks ago. This morning, the local paper did a FRONT page story about this...see the lead story.

The next council meeting is Tuesday next week. I am sending a copy of the signed petition as well as a legal dossier provided by SalemChickens.com and changed to use in Ohio.

So, if you guys would please sign the petition at the link above, I would really appreciate it. We currently have 377 signatures, but I would like to send it with as many as possible. The fact that you are out of state is irrelevant: It is simply to apply pressure from bad publicity, which has already started to work!

Thanks in advance everyone!
Done!

Welcome to the group! I was a new egg only a few months ago. This group has been so helpful to me answering my questions. And, as I'm sure you can already see, they are quite entertaining!

I got a light green egg from one of my quail today!!! How weird!

Pretty.

Already signed but I didn't think about posting on my Facebook page. I'll do that now.

I had a few bananas that were getting too ripe and I knew that I wasn't going to eat them, so I made banana nut bread.

Simple recipe. Took no time at all.

Banana Bread Recipe
Prep time: 5 minutes Cook time: 1 hour

INGREDIENTS
3 or 4 ripe bananas, smashed
1/3 cup melted butter
1 cup sugar (can easily reduce to 3/4 cup)
1 egg, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon baking soda
Pinch of salt
1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour

METHOD
No need for a mixer for this recipe. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). With a wooden spoon, mix butter into the mashed bananas in a large mixing bowl. Mix in the sugar, egg, and vanilla. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and mix in. Add the flour last, mix. Pour mixture into a buttered 4x8 inch loaf pan. Bake for 1 hour. Cool on a rack. Remove from pan and slice to serve.

Yield: Makes one loaf.
Not fair to tease us like this!!!

Love all your animals. Wish I lived on a bigger plot so I could have more.

Signed!!! Good luck!!!

Signed!!! Good luck!!!

Thank you both plus NOLAChick!!!!! The mayor was so aghast when a reporter called to interview him about this that he directly contradicted the statements recorded in the council minutes, which I included in the petition. I love to make politicians stutter: They lying they do on their own, so no great victory there.

Yes it was a fab day.

What is wrong with Coco? I didn't know that she was sick.

Coco has upper respiratory something. The vet said it was probably snuffles. She's been on antibiotics for a week and not much better. The vet said it could be heat stress related, but I am very cautious that my bunnies are okay heat wise. Anyway, the vet said they may need to do X-rays to see if it's pneumonia and they would have to put her to sleep. We're giving it a couple days more. When I'm petting her she sounds much better. She's eating and drinking and hopping except you can hear that rattle. Sounds like popcorn.
