"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Has anyone else noticed how wrong has been turned into right and right into wrong and what's with nature lately? It seems to be going off kilter or something ? Two eggs in one day, trees blooming out of season, fruit not ripening before it's ripe, etc., etc. etc.?

I 've noticed the trees blooming before they should for a few years now but it seems even earlier this year. I'm picking limes right now. The norm for that is late nov.P

Where I am, the ONLY option is satellite. Time Warner told me it would be $5000.00 to run cable wire down my street to my house...REALLY?!?!?!?! Seriously!?!?!?!

Yes, you read right $5000.00!!!!!

EXACTLY! That's what Suddenlink told us. So, I am stuck with Dish for TV and ATT for the internet and a phone.

AT&T is the ONLY thing in our area.  Suddenlink is unwilling to bring cable across the street :rant   Their box is literally across the street from me.  ARRRGG!  Cox cable would have done it, but then it changed to Suddenlink.

Obama can bail you out. :lau

Ron, you really said something there. We can't forget that the worse crash in decades was under Bush and the Congrss and if Bush hadn't bailed out the big companies that were running themselves into the ground it would have been as bad as in the 1930's. Wall Street are loaded with criminals that suck the country dry. A long list of companies that almost took us under and all that happens is the CEO gets fired with a billion dollar golden parachute. There are MANY Madoffs out there robbing hard working people of their money. When R. Allen Stanford went down I had just transferred my pitiful retirement money there but he hadn't had a chance to convert it into his bogus c/D's. but my very close friend was not so lucky, she lost 1/2 of her retirement. Fortunately she was a frugal living person and is ok. So, Ron, you are right, there's a lot of poison out there. People so greedy that they don't care who they destroy in order to live crazy crazy rich. (I have no problem with honest rich People, good for them. ). I hope everyone gets crazy rich, just not dishonestly or by tricking and stealing from others.

Thanks Primrose I guess you didn't get the memo Ron's working In Hattiesburg so he's not home till late.I'm his wife Pam . I put a P so you will know its me no P it's Ron. No worries we are of the same mine when it comes to our Gov.

If they cancel welfare, that will be the next war. I can't wait to see how this is going to turn out. So sad.

As far as welfare/assistance, and this is my PET PEEVE with giving this assistance to people (and not to offend anyone). I think this could cut down a few millions of dollars if these items did not qualify as part of this assistance program.

I don't understand how can the following foods, etc. be considered a necessity to get and that you HAVE TO have and can be purchased with this little benefits cards.
1. Cakes (Even the cakes that are made in the bakery qualify)
2. Cookies
3. Sodas
4. Crackers
5. Ice Cream
6. Candy

I have to go to another lane when I see people in the store "stocking up" on Little Debbie's and Corn Chips and Cokes. Am I missing something?????

I think the only things these cards should be allowed to buy are......
1. Meat
2. Rice
3. Vegetables/Potatoes
4. Milk
5. Fruit.

And that's about it.

That sounds basic to me. And if people have any "extra" money to get their hair, toes and nails "DONE", then they don't need to get assistance. MY and YOUR tax dollars are making it possible for these people to have "EXTRA" money. Oh, HECK NO! I don't even have "EXTRA" money to do those things, so why should THEY!!!

When is all of the a necessity in order to live?

Ok, I better stop now. I have to go and call my psychiatrist. Little people are starting to talk to me. I'm starting to hear voices.

:goodpost:

Great post!! Nothing ticks me off more than when the person in front of me is purchasing all sorts of cr@p and then pays for it with their "stamps" and then goes out and gets in a nicer car than I drive!!! To each is own with the car they drive, but when I am helping to pay for their stuff, then I get ticked! I'm self employed, have worked for everything my husband and I have and pay out the butt for health insurance each month. Both our vehicles are older and we WORK for what we have. Welfare was meant to be a "helping hand up" NOT a lifestyle choice!!!:rant!:rant. Ok...all done.

Yup, or worse when their car costs more than your house. I have seen Shelby owners with stamps. Do you know what a Shelby costs???
