"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Forgot to add boiled crawfish and shrimp to that list that shouldn't qualify for the food stamp program.

What?! You don't think they should pay 9-18 dollars a pound for meat? I've learned to be so"tight" with my meat budget. Since I haven't been able to work a job I pretty much consider helping us eat well for cheap is MY JOB. I have been dying for some good smoked pulled pork for about 2weeks now! Just drooling over it. But I haven't seen any under $2 a pound. Finally today I saw in the Super1 ad that starts tomorrow for $1.39 a lb. They sometimes out then on sale for 99cents a lb. Then I buy a few for the freezer.

Nature has always had a way of cleansing the Earth of too much. If you either look at history or the bible they both have long stories of nature acting weird and wiping out many when things go wrong. No one can pin point the exact reason, but we do know we are about 600,000 late for the last cleansing biased on history. Have you ever read those guide stones in Georgia? They were put there for a reason.

Here is a link:

  1. Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature.
  2. Guide reproduction wisely — improving fitness and diversity.
  3. Unite humanity with a living new language.
  4. Rule passion — faith — tradition — and all things with tempered reason.
  5. Protect people and nations with fair laws and just courts.
  6. Let all nations rule internally resolving external disputes in a world court.
  7. Avoid petty laws and useless officials.
  8. Balance personal rights with social duties.
  9. Prize truth — beauty — love — seeking harmony with the infinite.
  10. Be not a cancer on the earth — Leave room for nature — Leave room for nature.
I study the bible a lot and the parable of the fig tree tells us it will not be long before this flesh age is over and our Lord returns to straighten everything out. Just watch the news and you can see the book of Revelations coming to pass, faster and faster! I think the Earth's labor pains are starting to get stronger while she gets closer to ushering in a new world age. We are in the 5th dispensation of time!

Just think, if the power went out for just 6 months most people wouldn't be able to survive. I went camping with a group of city friends one time and had to teach them how to start a fire. I had a flint stick, they brought lighter fluid and candle matches and still couldn't manage it. Also, we would have to go back to the bartering system. You can't eat a TV!

Our power went out for 5 hours the other day, but I was asleep. When I called the power company, they said it would be about 4 more hours, so we started the generator, 20 minutes later, power back on! LOL But I think it killed the last of the turkey and duck eggs in the incubator! But I agree, some people need to have everything handed to them and can't or won't make due with a lot less! What do you mean, go back to the bartering system, I didn't know we ever left it. It's better than cash, cause this old lady isn't signing onto any one world order.

I practice the bartering system now. With people having limited to no cash these day, I always take that into consideration and see what we can swap. I love to barter. Bartering is more valuable than cash (in my opinion). Like those 50+ jars of canned preserves, etc that I bartered, I would NOT have been able to afford to buy 50+ jars of canned goods. No way. So, the pea feathers didn't cost me a dime, so I figured why not. Now, I'm set for a LONG time with all of my canned preserves.
Wow, you are GREAT at bartering! You all know I raise New Zealand White meat rabbits and sell some to offset the cost of feed, well this morning I got a call from a guy wanting to trade me his bike for rabbits! If I knew someone who was in the market for a bike, I would have taken him up on it and traded the bike for some feed or cages or whatever we could use or trade off !

That would be mostly lawyers. Ray Nagin a super delegate who is now being investigated and charged with crimes Katrina related. So Lawyers and crooks. That's who runs the gov. Also a lot of young (collage) people voted for him.
So many college professors are brainwashing our kids these days, that it's a wonder they have any brains left at all, by the time they graduate !

Now in my crazy and weird thinking, Im thinking that the government cannot think that boiled crawfish is mandatory in order for people to live. The same as shrimp. I pass a shrimp truck every day going home and the sign indicates that they accept those EBT cards. Is that the name of the free money cards?

Now this is a true. I was ar Wal-Mart one evening and I was behind a girl and a guy. The girl bought a bag of skittles with her free money card and then got $20.00 cash back so that they could go to the club. Oh I had to say something about the candy and cash and made the facial expression indicating that I shouldn't hear any lip since my tax dollars was paying for their night on the town.

My satsumas & lemons are nowhere near ready to pick yet.
Mo satsumas yet, but 6 oranges for the first time and the manderine tree is bearing so much fruit for one year in the ground, we had to tie the braches to sticks to hold them up! It looks so funny 3 to 4 feet tall and the fruit laying a few inches from the ground! LOL

Great post!! Nothing ticks me off more than when the person in front of me is purchasing all sorts of cr@p and then pays for it with their "stamps" and then goes out and gets in a nicer car than I drive!!! To each is own with the car they drive, but when I am helping to pay for their stuff, then I get ticked! I'm self employed, have worked for everything my husband and I have and pay out the butt for health insurance each month. Both our vehicles are older and we WORK for what we have. Welfare was meant to be a "helping hand up" NOT a lifestyle choice!!!

I agree, so why do the people in government paid housing complain, saying they have lived there for 3 generations, so it is their home? I saw a woman buying steaks like they were never gonna make any more with an overflowing basket, and dressed to kill, the man with her in a tailored suit with several bottles of whisky, peeling hundred dollar bills off a wad that would choke a horse and don't you know she was paying with food stamps for the steaks? Somehow that picture didn't look right to me!

Uh, what's a shelby?

I really don't know, but then I don't know how to text either and only have a simply prepaid cell phone to take when I go into town, in case my 2002 truck breaks down! No camera or anything, just the telephone because it is impossible to find a payphone anywhere anymore! HONEST !! LOL

I just found an egg from my Silkie and from my bantam Cochin frizzle! Aw, they are so cute! Their first ones, on the same day.
Congrats

If inflation wasn't so high in the US you might see US crawfish for $8 a pound, too! Inflation is a vicious circle, the more people make, the more everything keeps going up, so you need more raises and prices keep climbing, so who is any better off for it ?

EXACTLY! That's what Suddenlink told us. So, I am stuck with Dish for TV and ATT for the internet and a phone.

ATT doesn't have internet availability in our area. They haven't upgraded the lines yet!!

We've watched the area grow up over the last 15 years, especially after Katrina. You'd think I could get high speed internet through the phone company at least. We have satellite internet...it's CRAZY how expensive it is, but a must with your own business.
